Looking for someone/s to design and build a basement bar. Already has a rough-in for the wet bar.
We've had 2 people come in already, and both have been saying, "whatever you want" and sending us to other places to pick out granite and/or cabinets.
Looking for someone with some vision, who's built a bar before, and has ideas to give us about things we should consider.
    I cannot design it myself!!!
PM me if you are interested, or post here if you you know someone. Would really like someone who has put in a basement bar before and not someone who just knows how to "put in sink and some drywall".

Sadly - I'd have to send you to 1956 Port Said Egypt. That being said - Your first consideration is your bar appliances. How much counter space will you need? What are you going to do about ice - a normal ice maker in the fridge? Coolers for bagged Party Ice? Or are you going to spend the Big Buxx and get a stand alone maker?

Next - think about under/over counter storage. How will you stow glassware? Will it be in a cabinet, or in one of those overhead hangers, or both? Speaking of which - are going to want a dish washer? A full sized fridge or bar sized?

You can get some ideas on model row. As I recall the Fitz II had a nice setup in the basement. Check that out.

    Check this out: http://www.homeportfolio.com/top/bar.html

Last consideration - do you want this to be a full service bar, or some parts (like the beer fridge) self service?

I'll check back and see if I can be of more help.

The foosball table is already there. But still need darts, Megatouch, and either a pool table or a shuffleboard table thingy.

Kao....good stuff to consider....gotta get to work. Do I even ask the wife her opinions?

JLC Contracting built our bar. Wish I could find some pics but I'm sure Jay has them. We had a half wall built of drywall, covered it with a hardwood flooring on the countertop area, covered the drywall with stained board.

It sounds weird but turned out great!!!!

Very nice Kaos, is that a Sinclair model? Just wondering since I have one and in the process of finishing my basement.

Yes it is. When we bought they were offering the built out basement for free.

I can build you a bar! I did one is Ashburn Farms that came out really nice. If you really won't one that stands out try using a Honey Onyx granite top with low voltage lighting underneath to allow the milk white granite to glow. An example of a Honey Onyx top can be seen at Galaxy Granite's show room in Ashburn off Loudoun County Parkway. Check it out and let me know if your still interested.
