I believe they are all corporate owned.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that if you look at profits, the one in the Broadlands Shopping Center is doing better than Southern Walk. And, over the entire area, the Southern Walk one is not as profitable. It may be that it does well in sales, but that the rent is more expensive. I don't know. But I'm thinking they probably look at that and maybe even a few years out before they decide which one to close.

That said, I also liked it there. Too bad.

I would say that the Southerwalk might not be as expensive as the one in Broadlands Market, the rent per sq ft in that shopping center is really high, and Sauls center keeps raising it on it's clients. The only thing that SB has going for it is that it's established and been there for at least 4 years.

Before the Caribou Coffee in Potomac Station closed I talked to the manager there and was told that while they were turning a profit, it wasn't high enough for corporate to allow them to stay open. Maybe it's the same for the SW Starbucks. While they might be doing okay in general, maybe they weren't making enough of a profit for the company to keep it open.

You make a good point. But I would think the same of the Starbucks in the Broadlands shopping ctr. would suffer the same. Honestly I don't see how American Flatbread and Glory Days stay open.

Would they get more traffic once that intersection is finished?
They put up signs about that SW Marketplace being "Now Open!"...but with that Starbucks closing, Callaloo closed, and a still empty lot next to Starbucks..doesn't look very good.

They are going to take both places, Callaloo and the empty dentist office.

How can a dentist go out of business? I think that's the first I've seen.

Well if you people would feed your kids more candy, surgar, cokes and sweets, and throw out the tooth brushes, they would be booming!

As a minority owner of both Radiance Salon & Medi-Spa in Broadlands and Lansdowne, I can personally attest that both locations are healthy and NOT closing down.

We are excited about this upcoming year and greatly appreciate the continuous love and support from our loyal patrons (Hence our new Radiance Rewards Program.) We look forward to another great year of growth and as always are looking to give back to both our clients and community. We encourage our clientel to let us know directly how we can improve and for opportunities to give back to our surrounding community.

If you are currently unemployed, and in the process of looking for a new job; please give Radiance a call. We are currently offering a complimentary haircut and color to help you begin your new journey with your best foot forward. Call Broadlands (703.723.4600) or Lansdowne (571.333.3005) for more details.

My wife called that dentist....he seemed to be answering his own phones. Then, he canceled the morning of her appointment.

I walked by it a few days later and their was a Sheriff's office sticker on the door with "Notice to Vacate" on it. That can't be good.

Visited with the dentist there once...would not go back... I could see why he didn't have much of a practice.

Nice initiative and I am glad to hear that business remains on track. Afraid you lost my custom some time ago though.

One more reason why I will continue to give them my business. What a wonderful thing to do for people.
