    So,

What in the H-E double hockey sticks have they done to the 4-way stop at Waxpool & Ashburn Village/Ryan Road(whatever that street is called) AND the new fangled one at Shellhorn & whatever that street is called (by Home Depot).

Off kilter 4-way stop signs. So now NO one knows when they're supposed to go or they think they can go sooner b/c there is so much space between them and the cars in the other direction.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Whoever thought of that (hopefully) temporary "fix" wasn't thinking clearly. I'm waiting for at least one accident this week.

Maybe it'll have miraculously changed since I drove through it last night & this morning.

OMG, I hear ya! We went through that intersection last night. People were clueless about what to do....took us forever to make a left turn onto Ashburn Village from Waxpool. I sure hope it's a temporary thing.

Politics, bureaucracies, planners, budgets....what a dangerous mix. If these guys at the beginning knew what came out the other end, they'd have a stroke. What a mess.

They've been 'getting ready' to change over that intersection for a few months. I remember when they were first going to switch it over, they had the big display signs saying that there would be a traffic pattern change. Well, that day came and went, I suspect because the VDOT found a few problems with the 4 lanes added north of Waxpool.

This time, they didn't give any warning ... which is idiotic! I am surprised there hasn't been an accident ... yet !

It real shame. It seem like never will be stop light ANY WHERE here! Nobody with authority care until someone die. That have to happen before a light come to Broadlands / Claiborne!

A few months is being conservative! It was actually mid-December 2003 when they were going to "change" the traffic patterns. It took them a half-year to actually make the change. That's efficiency -- government style.

Dang.Yu.Hyung, please read some of the older posts to the forums. A light *is* coming to Claiborne/Waxpool. But as usual, because of red tape, it doesn't get done overnight. Nobody is waiting for 'someone to die' before getting the light there; it just takes time like everything else. People can't just say "Hey, we need a light here!" and the VDOT folks come down and put one in... Things don't work that way.

He was talking about Broadlands/Claiborne which was a thread about a year ago. That light is coming too, maybe by the end of 2005?

I ask same question over year a go! Same answer: it coming soon. I just can not belief it take so long. We pay enough tax to have light at each intersection (not good idea but is true).

Speaking of the Waxpool/Clairborne intersection, I was there yesterday and it was myself and 4 other cars. Talk about mass confusion...two of the cars who were side by side and facing as if to go straight across Waxpool from Clairborne were in fact just idling and having a conversation with each other as if they had all the time in the world and not aware of the other traffic at the intersection. I'm beginning to understand how road rage gets started...

    (1) Raise hand
    (2) Press on Horn
    (3) Repeat

A book could be written about some of the people who drive around here. Truly amazing.

2007? That is ridiculous. When I want to go to work in the morning I often turn right and make a u-turn because it is impossible to turn left out of my side of Broadlands. With the shopping center there we need a light asap, not 3 years from now.

What a joke that is. All that and the hospital too. We are truly blessed to have been able to spend half a million on a home. :(

I don't recall who had initially suggesting posting the plate numbers of the inconsiderate drivers but I am now in favor!

Gammonbabe, I think the same thing. Maybe Broadland have special deal to buyer, buy expensive house, get bad intersection for free. Thanks!

These 4 way stops on DIVIDED roads is stupid. The intersections are too big, and obviously the morons given licenses around here can't negotiate them. EVERY TIME I've gone through the waxpool/claibourne one this week, morons think if you are going straight, you have right of way over the other person.. rather then everyone just going in turn. 3 times now I've turned left to have the person coming the other way almost run into me (and I'm already across the road!) because they wouldn't wait in turn.

Why is it everyone can figure out the one further up waxpool, but no one can figure this one out?

Stupid drivers UNITE! So we can take your cars all at once!

Now the intersection to the tollroad down by home depot is a 4 way stop too. This is redicous.

I have to admit that I was not in favor of the 4-way stop at Waxpool/Claiborne. However, I now think the intersection is much safer and that the number of accidents has been greatly reduced. I asked the sheriff's office to check the statictics and get back to the HOA Board with the info.

This is a bit late but I've been avoiding those stop signs like the plague. I just noticed yesterday as I got off the Greenway at the Ashburn Exit (#6 I think) going towards Ashburn Village Blvd. The 4-way stop at Home depot has a right only lane, and a left/straight lane. Isn't that a touch backwards? EVERYONE either goes straight or left. It would make way more sense to have a left turn only lane & straight/right lane. That way it wouldn't back up to the freaking toll road.

    Ok...done ranting now:)
