...talk about sour grapes! The experts have looked at the issue, and our elected officials made the call. Can you stop the moping and act like grown ups?

    Thankfully we have the Greenway!

Now, just imagine if that were our only choice.

As a "grown up" who pays taxes, drives the roads, and uses medical care I continue to be deeply disappointed at the county officials who turned this down......and they are politicians, not experts.

vacliff, I'll be the grown up then and recognize that you can't see clearly because of your bitterness. I recently read the whole hospital thread (took the better part of an afternoon), and I see that you must have spent MONTHS just posting "love letters" for HCA and gripes against INOVA. If you spent that much time posting, I'm guessing it's a safe bet that you spent the better part of the last couple of years working on HCA's behalf in other ways. So, I am sorry that this is such a sore spot for you. I'm glad to drop it since the experts have decided this one.

I agree, after the last fubar at Inova (with our than infant son) we no longer go to Loudoun.

We LOVE Reston, for us the biggest difference is you see a Dr. in the triage area, so you get faster care in an emergency situation.

It would take just a little more time to read the entire internet. You're sorely hurtin for entertainment if you decided to read this saga. Also, I bet you didn't read the old threat, that was equally impressive.

Yes, I supported bringing another hospital, hundreds of jobs, millions in tax dollars, and millions in road improvements into this county.
No bitterness....just disappointment in our county government. But the sour taste of bitterness clearly flows freely from your mouth.
You obviously read with a biased eye...I praised Inova on many occasions as well. Care to comment on those posts, since you read them all?

I will chime in only this once since I have no dog in this race.

The 'experts' you speak of (the paid planning staff) consistently recommended approval of the HCA application at (I believe) all times. The 'deciders' who overruled the 'experts' were the BOS, who as politicians should not truly be considered experts at anything except getting themselves elected.

So no, the 'experts' didn't decide this one actually.

Sour grapes??? But it's not over yet. Nothing to be sour about. We'll see that the judges say before you go off having the wine party.

That would be better than this whine party!

...but you also supported plopping a hospital in the middle of a beautiful nature community. Also, when did calling a company a monopoly become a compliment?

I've got better things to do that spend countless hours, weeks, and months like you do posting about a hospital that is never going to be built. So, I'm done, but please feel free to keep posting here and wasting your time as many of you have done for years.

Is that why you said you spent all afternoon reading the hospital thread?

Your consistency is like mud. You aren't winning so you're picking up and going home. Enjoy

Anyone needing an image of what hospital overflow parking from the hospital would be, should try to drive down Broadlands Blvd, Glebe View and the surrounding streets right now. The overflow from the job fair is spanning all the way to Vestals. With cars parked on both sides of Glebe View and Summerhouse Place the kindergarden school bus had trouble just getting down the street let alone find a spot to safely unload children.

Wow…. I guess we shouldn’t have job fairs now. This is post is total nonsense! You people are absolutely some of the most selfish people I've met in my life! And besides, the hospital has copious parking allotted. You should all be ashamed of yourselfs to post drivel like this!

Something wrong with members posting opinions on the topic? You seem to have no problem posting your opinions.

They are all just opinions here.

    And why the personal attacks?

Interesting....and please do the comparison...how many attended the job fair?
How many spaces did the proposed hospital have? What is the expected number of employees/patients/visitors the hospital would have had?
Please present some substance to your allegation and it might have merit.
Sounds like a complete apples and oranges comparison to me.

Maybe the answer is banning job fairs. But given that (to my knowledge) this is the first time in the 5-6 years the School Admin Building has been there that this problem has occurred, it is not a big community issue.

I will agree with you that maybe if the hospital was built and THEY had a job fair, there could have been some overflow parking.

Fine. You're right. No personal attacks. In agreement to your point, my father used to say, "opinions are like butts, everyone has one and they all smell." - Retired Navy officer, go figure. So that applies to me too. Fair enough.

I give up! But I'm going down swinging on this point.
So here comes my stinky opinion... can someone explain to me how a job fair parking problem at the school admin building had anything to do with the hosptial that may or may not be built???:conf2:

Putting that aside for a moment, here's my reaction to this post. In case you haven't noticed, MANY of our neighbors are OUT OF WORK. And I'm sorry if someone was a little put out by how unsafe the poor, little children at the kindergarten school when people are looking for JOBS to feed their families is absoultely the most selfish thing I think I've seen yet on these boards. :angryfire:

I'm almost certain that no one went tearing down the street at break neck speed engagering the precious little lads and lass'! Especially since the parking was sooo terrible! Not as if the little tykes were walking down the steet without a parent or escort who would be responsible for their safety!!

But excuse me for caring about people in this severe recession. Explain all that to the kid whose parents sell their home and move because daddy/mommy lost their jobs and went into bankruptcy and now they can't go to that unsafe school! Not happening on your street??? It happend to three families on my street alone.

Mankind never fails to disappoint me. Espeicially in such affluence. Here's another shinning example.:angryfire:
