Does anyone have experience with the Radiance Day Spa in Ashburn (Bonefish Parking Lot). I'd like to get my wife a gift certificate there but want to make sure that it's a great spa.
    Thanks,
    Ron

They're great- she'll love it. She can go to the Broadlands or Lansdowne locations.

I've never been to Radiance - so I don't know...but I really like Amenity Spa - they treat you like gold!

I would recommend Nova Medical Spa for a true Spa experience. They are located off of Waxpool and Beaumeade.

Radiance is overpriced and the staff there is snobby and the services are not that great. If you want to wow your wife and have her treated well, go to Amenity Day Spa. (It's behind the Homegoods/AC Moore by Ashbrook)

i vote for lansdowne over amenity. i've only been to radiance once for a spa service., and once for a haircut. i got to hear all about the woman's boob job while she gave me a pedicure! (sorry boys...). they were snobby and i didn't like the feel of the place.

+3 on Radiance - they are way over priced for the services, the staff is rather unpleasant and I am no longer a patron.

If you are looking for something local - I would suggest the following:

    Cloud Nine in Leesburg
Trinity Day Spa (near the Mall)

My personal favorite spa is located within the Ritz Carlton (Tysons), by far the best in the area for all services and the aestheticians are amazing. I've been a customer for 8 years and I have never been disappointed.

Marianne really likes Radiance Spa. She gets her hair and nails done there as well as skin treatment facials.

It is not the cheapest place, but she loves the quality of service

The best massage I've had was from a little non-spa type place in Vienna (near Tysons) called TRI Therapeutic Massage. It isn't a fancy spa environment, just a nice, clean and relaxing massage place with a professional and courteous staff. No fancy frills, just a great massage.

I've had a couple of massages at Amenity but didn't enjoy it as much as the ones from TRI. I think I just prefer the simplicity of not having to deal with skinny young chick employees trying to be chic like at the fancy spas. Don't depress me before you relax me! :)

I have to echo the complaints about Radiance. The front desk staff are clueless, there is no visible management, and the women who do manis/pedis are pretty rude and don't do that good of a job on an overpriced service.

The Medspa @ Nova Medical group is fantastic! The staff is well-trained and very courteous. Sadly, they don't offer nail services.

For nails, I highly recommend Joy Salon. Great price for what most places would charge at least 50% more.

At the end of the day, the Spa @ The Ritz Carlton is top-notch.

My best experience at Radiance has been with hair, and Alex is great. I have gotten spa treatments there and they have been good as well, but hair takes the cake at Radiance. I prefer the nail salon by Cafe Opera for my pedicures.

I like Radiance a lot. I always get the haircut I want, and Jan took great care when I first got there to make sure the color was perfect, at my previous salon I had issues with the roots always being too blonde. The facials I get there are also wonderful, I can highly recommend Mindy. Nails I get done there when they have a special and I need it, I do prefer a nailsalon, however, not because of the quality but because I can get the same quality for a lower price.

The front desk staff ... the quality depends on who works that day. I don't care about the front desk staff as much as I care about the people who actually work on me, and the fact that I have a hard time finding a salon that does my hair the way I want it, and Radiance has that staff.

I prefer Amenity for spa treatments. I prefer Hair Loom in Brambleton for hair stuff.

I went to Radiance for years for hair color, cuts and spa treatments. I think Amenity is so much nicer as a spa. There is no comparison.

Several years agao I stopped going to Radiance. The charge for the color on my last visit was over $300. I got the same treatment every time and it was typically about $150. I was duped into a more expensive service that I made clear I didn't want. I called back to complain and got nowhere.

When I would get my roots done at Radiance, the color wasn't pulled through well enough and you could almost see a line where the new color had been applied. This was done by one of their senior stylists who I paid more to see.

They lost my business and I am very happy with Amenity and Hair Loom.

i also had pricing issues at radiance, no matter how much shorter i cut my hair each time, they kept charging me the maximum 70 bucks each time for a cut that took them 15 minutes or less to give me.

I don't know who you see for Mani-Pedi's at Radience. Judy is a funny lady and listnens to her customers chat - she knows them like family.

I've gone to Sara Kim for a year. She doesn't speak much English, but we get along fine, and I don't like to chat a lot when I get my nails done anyway.

My stylist left Radience when they wanted her to charge more. Now we see her at Rain over by the Giant in Ashburn Farm.

As far as other items, I don't get massages. But I do see Dr. Mak-Fung and Mattea at Dermatology Associates of NOVA - they have an office in Sterling and Centreville- for the spider viens/redness on my English/Irish skin, and the spider viens that look like major bruises on my right shin. Luckily i don't need Botox, and since my mom had a neurological disease I can't use it anyway.
