House Fire on Sunday

I have sad news to report that a house very close to Broadlands (Farmwell Hunt - near the Broadlands Community Church) was destroyed by fire yesterday. I don't know too many details, but here is a link with some information.

My heart goes out to this family who appear to have lost everything, but at least they made it out safely. I did hear that many of their pets were not so lucky.

 

My family and I were heading down Ashburn Road at 9:30 yesterday morning to get on the bike path and saw all the fire engines and I remember thinking what a horrible day for your house to burn down. My prayers and thoughts are with this family.

 

how sad. i hope they are ok and have a good support system while they work it all out.

 

Mill Run is having a monetary fund drive for the family (their youngest is a 4th grader there). I am sure that the school could give more details, or I would be happy to pass on what I know. Very sad!

 

The school has formed a fund and is taking donations in the form of cash or checks to buy gift cards for the family to be used for clothing, groceries, gas etc. You can also donate the actual gift card if you rather.... Mill Run office phone # is 571-252-2160.

 

If your child goes to Eagle Ridge, they are also collecting each day at lunchtime.
