Anyone have a favorite website/location for buying discount Broadway show tickets? Anyone use the TKTS booths in NYC?

Any and all advice appreciated! :)

love the tkts booth in nyc! you may also want to check out travelzoo.com for hotel discounts and shows. i've found great deals on their site for nyc in particular! also, i took the bolt bus last time i went up and it was fantastic. cheap, clean, free wifi and movie - fabulous.

TKTS is a great way to get cheap tickets but it is hard to find any of the popular shows listed. As jjenkins said, sometimes the theater's box office sometimes releases tickets right before show time and a good price, also.

For me, if you are spending that much money and time going to New York, spend a little more to get advance tickets for at least one show that you want to see so the whole trip isn't a bust. We always get at least one show and then TKTS for the rest.

Check out this website. It is where we got tickets for Shrek. All kids under 12 get in free with an adult ticket purchase, but only for Tuesday and Wednesday shows. We paid for three adults and got two free kids tix!

We use TKTS every time and have used them for YEARS. Usually tickets are 50% off and lately most of the popular shows are on there. My dad was up in NYC last month and Shrek was on there, Chicago, Next to Normal, Mary Poppins, In The Heights... a bunch of others. Unless things have changed, they're cash only.
http://www.tdf.org/TDF_ServicePage.aspx?id=56 will show you info on TKTS as well as what was up last week.
There are always long lines but they move SUPER FAST. With the new booth things should be even better.
When we saw Hairspray last year we needed 8 tickets and they split us up into groups of 2. It was good though because after the intermission we all switched seats. One group was in the second row, one in the third row, and the other sets were in opposite balconies. We didn't complain at all, it was freaking awesome.
