    tyger31 and others--

tyger31--I got your message and added your name to the "list"!

We are currently in our RV driving down to Sarasota, FL to visit my husband's relatives and family for three weeks with our kids. Thankfully, the kids are now asleep while I am online and husband is driving. :indiff2: My parents and family members are at our farm taking care of "things". :)

The produce will be plentiful, hopefully. While we are traveling "due South", we will make some side trips for our farm business. Perhaps even pick-up some "goodies" for "y'all" to try in the future!

We hope everyone (and your families) have a pleasant Memorial Day weekend and week(s). Have a blessed week!

    Nwfdrool and others--

Added you (Nwfdrool) to the growing list of "Strawberry Samplers". By the way, someone on another thread regarding tent camping had questions, etc. You might want to visit your local library and check out the RV/Camping reference books that list campgrounds all over the nation.

Speaking from the "RV Road", we are traveling South to Florida (Sarasota, FL), it is fun to camp (tent or by RV or other camper type). We have a large RV which we use alot during the year. You can also rent travel trailers, RV(s), and other camping equipment.

Thankfully, gas prices are low now. Anyway, about the produce, I will post when the "stuff" will be available, etc. Also, if you wish to buy some berries, etc., I will post prices as soon as we return.

Strawberries will probably be ready by first or second week(s) in June 2009.

    Have a good holiday--

Foodie - could you please add us to the list as well.

Our little one (who is almost 2) loves and I mean loves his fresh fruit & veggies, he gets them at every meal. He even eats kimchee.LOL

This might sound strange, but I have found feeding him locally grown produce has really helped with is seasonal allergies.

Hope you have a wonderful time and safe travels.

I got your posted message. "Y'all" (all three peas in a pod--) are added to the "list". Just put our "6 peapods" to bed about an hour ago.

    Have a great weekend, etc.--

    Hi, Gang--

I just received an email from my parents about all the rain "y'all" are getting now! Right here in Florida, we are sunning ourselves--;) Anyway, they said the berries are looking good even with all the rain!:)

Most likely, we can provide berries up to August 2009 since we planted some of the plants in a higher elevation several years ago. Also, I will be happy to do like last year (with Maureen's approval--to have you pick-up the berries at the Nature Center) and bag quarts of FREE STRAWBERRIES for those of you who will try them. Probably a quart for each person already PM'd or posted on this thread with your name on the bag. After you have tried them, if you wish more, then we would have to charge you for them. I will keep you posted.

We should return home to our farm by 06/12/09, Friday--or so. I have to be at the United Natural Foods Buying Club's meeting for deliveries and pick-up on Tuesday, 06/16/09.

    See you--

    Blessings--

    Foodie (from the RV Road)

Please add me to your "Strawberry Lovers" list...be happy to pay for them of course. We buy them from the grocery every week so I definitely wouldn't mind supporting a neighbor.

    Hi, Sunny (and others)--

You are added to "list". I will also more strawberry recipes later. I will give some berries for FREE at first.

We are having fun in FL with family members. We will be driving to Orlando and to DisneyWorld to celebrate a belated birthday for hubby Wednesday with our kids. First visit for all 6 kids--:shakehead: My sister-in-laws and their hubbies (and their brood) will go also.

Here is a fun recipe for Strawberry Salsa... very delicious

This recipe is very forgiving... so if it looks dry, just make up some more sauce and add to the mixture. Keep in mind that it becomes more 'saucy' the longer it sits, so no need to over sauce it.

    4 Golden Delicious apples
    4 Kiwi
    1 lbs of fresh strawberries
    1 TBS brown sugar
    2 TBS white sugar
    3 TBS strawberry preserves

    10 tortillas
    1 cup cinnamon sugar

    THE SALSA
Dice up all of the fruit. Leave the peel on the apples but not the kiwi. Take off the top those strawberries. Mix the brown sugar, white sugar and preserves. Pour mixture over diced fruit. Refrigerate when not eating... if it lasts that long. :)

    THE CHIPS
Cut tortillas into triangles, like a pie. Lay tortilla triangles on cookie sheet and spray with Pam (or cooking spray of choice). Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake them at 350 for 8-10 mins until crisp. Cool chips and then eat with strawberry salsa.

    Enjoy.
