    I don't want to know! :eek:mg:

I just don't get it. Are parents really this out of touch? Or do they just want to be the "cool parent" and let their kids just "have fun"? It really scares me.

You may be right. Perhaps there are parents out there who are more interested in being their kid's friend than their parent.

So who gets sued for child support - the policeman who didn't warn the kids to bring their booze elsewhere, or the school for not preventing a family from hosting a party???? Or maybe the advertising company that created an ad for Budweiser? Someone must be responsible, right?

    HA HA

hmm- that depends on how drunk the girl was, if she remember what kind of beer she drank and who was in her coed tent.

in all seriousness- i don't think it's a funny situation but boy would some ppl learn the consequences of bad decisions if instead of homecoming next year they are home with a 4 month old baby.

Adults condoning booze at parties. Co-ed sleep overs.

I must have been living in the wrong neighbourhood when I was a kid. :(

I suspect that maybe some of the parents who knew where their child was going thought the tent idea was good because they knew there was a chance their child might drink and this way they would not be driving. i.e. - "they're going to drink anyway, at least this way I know they won't be driving."

More and more info is coming out about that night.

My daughter has a class with the boy who was taken to the hospital. Apparently his heart had stopped and they had to do CPR on him.

I have no idea if this is true but rumor has it that the parents hosting the party purchased the alcohol and are in real trouble with the police now.

:shakehead: this would make a fantastic after school story- remember those? talk about a recipe for major tragedy and consequences for baaaad decisions... geez. glad the kid is ok- i hope he doesn't need to dodge death again to learn his lesson about drinking to excess.

Yeah, 20 kids getting drunk at a party, not cool. Now I'll admit that I've tossed back a few brewskis in my high school days (not too long ago), but my friends and I always had a spoken pact..."Since we're going to be stupid, let's do it smart."

Yes its stupid to get drunk, but since we chose to, we put away the car keys, hid the cell phones (drunk dialing can be a real pain the next day) and stayed in or near the house.

This is why we should lower the drinking age. If parents get the opportunity to teach their children how to drink responsibly (maybe help them find their limit) before they head off to college or learn by themselves (the hard way), then we would have a lot fewer accidents and tragedies.

I have no problem lowering the drinking age to 18....just raise the driving age to 18 as well.

I was reading about Google implementing drunk e-mailing protection that automaticly activates from around midnight to 5 a.m. The protection would pop up an additional screen with math problems. If you were sober and able to complete them your email was sent :notfunny:

I never considered E-mailing under the Influence to be a serious issue, but I guess it is these days :)

<scene opens in the Loudoun County Jail>

(In another cell, a harmonica is being played woefully)

Joe the hardened criminal (no relation to the Plumber) speaks to his new “roomie”

“so, wadda ya in for kid?”

“EUI. My third fall. The Judge got me on a habit ruling”

“EUI? What the :censored: is that kid?”

    “E-mailing Under the Influence”

“Officer! Can I get another cell?!!!”
