Hey, anyone out there know the owner of Bailey, the good lokking golden that walks off leash? He/She? is very well trained and i'd like to find out where He/She was got that training.

The other two places reccomended to me have never returned my call. Left a message with Wagntrain, and the place in Leesburg, well the phone just rang and rang....

I'm not sure about Bailey the golden retriever, but our 14 week old puppy is in puppy kindergarden at Dog Day Afternoon in Leesburg http://www.thebesttrainingdogschool.com/index.html. The puppy kindergarden is a 6 week group class, but I know that they offer private training lessons and day school. We have been happy so far. Good luck!

Annette is the owner of Wagntrain, and she is great. Hope she calls you back.

Hello, I am Baileys owner, Scott Ostergard. I was actually the one that trained her. Basically the Vet suggested that I could have her hips replaced for $5K or walk her a lot (she was 6 months old at the time). Therefore, she gets walked about a mile + a day (over 2 or 3 walks a day) and I just got tired of being pulled everywhere. A few treats, a couple of strong words and TONS of walks, I think she finally got the hang of it.

To all those concerned about the leash, I try very hard to make sure she moves off the sidewalk when others are near, she will only crosses the street on command and will not approach other dogs unless the other owner states that it is ok. This ins't a perfect plan, but it works pretty well.

Time, attention, TLC, treats, and a few stiff conversations will typically do it.
