Where is the nearest book store (besides Safeway!) to Broadlands? Do I have to go to Dulles Town Center or onto Rt. 7 ?

I go to the one in Reston off of Spectrum, only because I work in Herndon though.

I usually go to the one in Sterling next to the Regal theaters. I think it's a Borders.

There is a Books-a-Million in Sterling on the corner of 7 and Cascades Pkwy.

not close, but if you spend any time in Centreville the Thrift Shop has a HUGE used book section- 50 cents a book, 3 for $1. some fairly recent reads too! It's near the corner of 28 and 29, in the plaza with 5 Guuys, across the street from Trader Joes.

It is sad that there are no book stores closer to the Ashburn area. :(

Got plenty of Starbucks, nail places, spas, and Harris Teeters though.

I believe there is a Borders planned in the Brambleton retail area, across from the movie theater - given the current economy who knows when... there's also a Borders Express(?) in the mall.

Orginally, Barnes & Noble was going into Brambleton Town Center, but they withdrew last year.

I agree, but always laugh when our developments are called "Planned Communities"! The plan was to have tons of Starbucks, nail places, grocery stores, etc???

Your choices are Books-a-Million near the Sterling Target, Borders on Route 7 just past Dulles Town Center, and Barnes & Noble near Reston Town Center. Eventually there will be another Books-a-Million on the way to Leesburg where the new Wegmans is going to be.

If you're trying to avoid Route 7, you can get to the Books-a-Million by taking Waxpool, crossing over 28, and continuing onto Church Road. Make a left at Cascades Parkway and then a right on Barthalomew Fair Dr. (just past Costco) and then left into the shopping center.

If you're looking for children's books you can buy some at the Go Bananas store in Brambleton.
