    Good afternoon,
We are expecting and looking for a good pediatrician. Particularly, we would like to meet the pediatrician in advance to get a good "vibe" on him/her. However, we are finding that a lot of pediatricians do not offer this service. Any advice? This is our first... Thanks!

Reston Pediatrics in Steling (Countryside office) sat down with us and told us all about their practice when we had our first (she's now 3). They walked us through their policies. We didn't meet with the doctors then, but know our kids are in good hands when we do go there.

Their number is 703-450-8660, but I believe that office is closed this week (they do have one in Reston too). Their web site is http://restonpediatrics.com/

    Good Luck!

Ashburn Pediatrics used to do this. We did this when we were expecting many years ago.

    Dr. Pagan at Ashburn Pediatrics.

Pretty much all of the Dr's we have seen there have been good however, Dr. Pagan is above and beyond.

We go to Ashburn Pediatrics as well... The one thing I like about them is the fact the whole 2nd floor is specifically the pediatrics.. Get off the elevator, turn left is the well area, or get off of the elevator and turn right is where the sick waiting area is.. and then I guess there another waiting room in the middle... I have a 3 1/2 yr. old and a 14 month old.. I have seen Dr. Crowley, Dr. Carroll, and Dr. Reilly (they are all wonderful) as I'm sure the other dr's are. When I was pregnant with my first born we also interviewed Dr. Haynesworth-Haynesworth Pediatrics in Ashburn. She seemed great, but we just wanted somewhere closer to where we live and Ashburn Ped. was the place.

My husband and I go to Broadland's Family Practice for ourselves and are very happy with them. So I'm sure they are great for your baby if you decide on them or Ashburn Ped.

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy

We have been going to Ashburn Peds for 15 years. We love Dr. Reilly and Dr. Pagan. The rest of the doctors and nurse practioners are great too. (Not so in love with the one male doctor.) Dr. Reilly makes you and your child feel as if she loves your child. She is calm and signs to your child with "songs" she makes up using there name. They are a very busy practice tho and not the same as when we started 15 years ago, but we have been more than happy with them. As a side note, we have a child with special needs. We have A LOT of doctor's appointments. We have many many doctors - ortho, neuro, genetics, optho, special dentist. and Dr. Reilly is definately the favorite to go to, even if they do give shots there. Not a big turnover of staff either, which says a lot about a place. There are nurses/staff there that were there 15 years ago!!! good luck on your hunt. doctors are such a personal choice. i am sure you will find the perfect one for you and your new little one!

We go to Reston Town Center Pediatrics and couldn't be happier. It's a haul down the road, but they have been very good for our 3 kids. We see one doctor most of the time and she is so comfortable with our position on vaccines and our request to adjust our kids' vaccine schedule. They are always rated in the Washingtonian Top Doctors. We switched there after a few, important, could be life-threatening misdiagnoses at a popular Ashburn ped.

    Good luck in your search!

I also highly recommend Ashburn Pediatrics. We have been taking our son there since he was born. All of the doctors have been wonderful and caring that we have seen, especially Dr. Beloy which is my son's favorite. I have never had any trouble getting an appointment and they even have walk-in appointments available from 7:30-8:30 am.
