The door in our master bathroom shower has always been a pain to open and close. It seems to stick at the bottom corner. Now it won't pull shut all the way at all. Anyone know how to adjust this. We are in a Van Metre Parkdale.

We had to replace ours completely. That started happening and then one day it fell off onto the tile!!!

I was hoping there was another option. :) Do remember how much it cost to replace?

Well can you give us a little more detail on what the present condition of the door is in?

    Is the supporting track broken?
Is the supporting wheel assembly on the door broken?
Did the adjustment screw fall out?

There are several reasons why the door would stick, but each would have a different corrective action.

Since we moved in 4 years ago the door has always stuck on the bottom corner. My husband could adjust it by lifting the door up and bending it slightly and it would work for a while then start sticking again. Recently he figured out when he lifted it up, if you put something in the space that he was lifting up and tightened the screw it would stay longer, but now apparently that isn't working at all anymore and the door does not shut all the way. Apparently where he was sticking something, a hard piece of plastic, in to hold the spot it has now damaged the black strip in the door and pieces of that were breaking off at the top of the door.

Sterling Glass over by Costco did it and we got a basic door Total cost was about $710 including install......said to say they said the vanmeter door is really really cheap. We had a leak in the shower when we moved in and had to have all the tile in the shower removed and redone (vanmeter forgot to put something down for the water to drain properly) the person they sent to rehang the door refused to do it because he said it was too cheap and would break right away. Needless to say vanmeter sent another person to rehang the showerdoor the house came with. It broke a year later.....it flew off the hinges and landed on the tile, luckily didn't break or hurt anyone....

sorry for the bad news story....

On our shower door, there are three different height holes where the door supporting wheel is attached to the door. By choosing different holes, the applicable door edge is raised or lowered. Could that be your problem?
