I'm wondering if it is safe to take both flu shots on the same day.

I don't think that's an option. My kids got their seasonal and I was told I needed to wait 28 days to get the H1N1.

I called today to schedule an appointment for son for the seasonal flu shot and the nurse asked if I would like to give him the H1N1 flu shot too. I asked if it was ok to have both on the same day and she responded with the government said it's ok. I rather hear that other people have taken both and are fine than a statement from the government.

I think it differs depending if you receive the injection (killed virus) or FluMist (live virus). I don't think you can get both FluMists in the same day, but you can get both injections or a combination of FluMist and injection on the same day.

This makes sense. Both my kids got the FluMist and was told they had to wait.

Thank you for all your responses.

My son got the two shots on Monday and so far he is fine. As others have mentioned I was told the virus in flu shots are dead so it's ok to get both on the same day.

I think you have to wait 3 or 6 weeks after the 'regular' flue shot before you can take the h1n1

In the spring when regular flu season is past, and we find out if H1N1 comes back around like it did last spring.

How is everyone finding these shots? I haven't been able to find a place to get one.

It depends on your point of view. The government and many doctors may say "yes", but think about double the amount of toxins going into your body at one time and your body's abililty to process them. Similar to children who are multi-vaccinated in one visit. The CDC has tested vaccine effects individually but not when given in conjunction with another vaccine (or more). Just something to think about........

I was able to find both shots at CVS' minute clinic. You can check the website to see where they have any available in the area.
