Mmmmmm... Why doesn't Febreze have a "Marinara" scented option?

But seriously, now that the padding is out you might try the carpet steaming/cleaning method again and see if you have better luck now.

RIch says it may have gotten into the sound deadening stuff and then you definately have to replace it.

We had a similar incident...grandkid in backseat, jug of milk from McDonalds...not found until it was so rotten it burst. Eve then it took a while to find it beneath the front passenger seat. It took several weeks, but we finally killed the smell. Pulled out all the liquid possible with dry towels, then dumped an entire gallon of Nature's Miracle from Petsmart into the carpet. Left the windows open to dry the carpet. Repeated the treatment after it dried as there was still a faint odor, and then I seem to remember trying Odo-Ban from Sam's Club. I think it took 3 applications simply because it spread farther than I originally thought (completely under the front passenger seat and even in the front floorboard under the mat. All the solutions have enzymes to eat the protein. I have even found a solution that I prefer since then. It is called Simple Solution and you find it at Petsmart. Cheaper and works at least as well, if not better. Patience and persistence will fix this.
