As I was recovering from all the overeating/binging over the holiday, I came across the P90x exercise Informercial... seemed interesting but before I went ahead and purchased it, I was curious to know if anyone has actually tried it before and if they could share their feedback - Thanks.

Doing it now. It is intense, but it does work -- it has a great variety of exercises and never gets monotonous. Rarely do I get through an entire workout exactly as they do it. Of course, I'll never look like the guy on the commercial, but for $75 bucks it is a great set of DVDs in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback - appreciate it. BTW where did you get it for $75? I was looking in Amazon and it's about 120/- - Thanks.

I have a friend that used P90X and it worked great for him. He not only lost weight (he only needed to lose about 20lbs) but he was in great shape. It really worked. It is not an easy program though - those works out are hard!

Not sure where I bought it, maybe ebay or amazon or craigslist. Deals can be found.

If I could drop another 20 lbs I would be in better shape than I was when I was 19, the exercises work. But I like to eat, and that is a problem!

this is a GREAT program- IF you follow it. the hardest part is choosing a fitness program that you get no actual pleasure out of, and feel like you simply HAVE to do. PX90 wouldn't work for Me b/c I hate exercise that feels like work, i prefer dance-y, rhythmic workouts that involve world music. but hubby would do really well with it because he enjoys that type of exercise.

How much space does it take to do the program and how much free weight do you need?

Thanks everyone for the feedback - I just placed an order with Amazon :)

I believe all you need are dumbbells, a chin-up bar and a resistance band and I am hoping I can just do most of it in front of my TV in my living room or basement...

That is all you need for stuff, and maybe a yoga mat;and as to dumbells, I have yet to really need more than 25 pounds to feel strained -- as again, these are 1 hour workouts. You don't need push up bars in my opinion; the pushups are gonna kill you as is. You'll see. Walmart sells adjustable dumbells for $40 and we bought a chin up bar there as well for like $25.

As to space, not much space is needed at all, we just move the coffee table (I often do them together with my G/F). A lot of these workouts, like the cardio and kempo, keep you moving nonstop for the whole hour so these aren't just muscle building workouts.

As to following the program, this program is pretty flexible. If you want to go nuts with it you can -- but I mix up the order, do what I can, and still get a lot of value out of it.
