Wed. AM on Belmont Ridge Road near BWHS...a bald eagle perched high in one of the last remaining stands of tall trees...what a beauty! New Year's Resolution...carry camera with me at all times!

So, since there's been sightings lately of Bald Eagles in Ashburn, I decided to go on a hunt. Well, it was a HUGE success! Went to Elizabeth Mills Riverfront Park in Landsdowne and saw three juveniles and one adult. The juveniles were flying around and playing with each other. I'm thinking that these guys came from a nest that is in Leesburg, but who knows. It's just nice that we have them so close by!

We saw one this morning sitting in a tree on Evergreen Mills near LCP. I thought it was a large hawk at first but then saw its beautiful big white head.

Very nice! I think it's amazing that they are starting to adapt to human presence, since the building doesn't seem to be stopping.
