Can anyone recommend a good pediatric ENT doc in the area? Our 13-month old son has had a chronic ear infection for over a month.

I'd prefer a physician who doesn't "automatically" recommend tubes, but instead, assesses his individual situation and explains the pros & cons of all options. I'm not opposed to him getting tubes if that is truly his best option to alleviate pain, though.

Any recs. are truly appreciated. Thanks!

Dr. Bahadori is the best! My son had chronic ear infections as well and once we had his tonsils and adenoids removed he never had another one. Not saying that is what he will recommend, however, that was the route we took. Good luck.

Dr. Andrew Silva in Lansdowne is great. Not sure if he is accepting new patients, but we really like him and trust his opinions.

Silva, Silva, Silva!!! He literally saved our son's life when our son was admitted to the hospital with a life-threatening condition. Even though, at the time, his practice didn't take our insurance, we gladly paid his fees (which he discounted for us).

We have an appointment with Dr. Bahadori next month and I have heard nothing but good things about him (and his entire practice actually). Our pediatrician highly recommended him after having 2 of her own children as his patients.

We have personal experience with both Bahadori and Silva. I would suggest both, but have always experienced that Dr. Bahadori's office is running behind. I am not talking 15 minutes either. One time we waited over an hour in the waiting room.:shakehead:

Bahadori was great, very good with kids, easy going. Tubes were a good decision and made a huge difference when our daughter had chronic ear infections.

    Wow.

We had that appointment with Dr. Silva and really felt rushed, so we made an appointment with another ENT who we are very happy with.

It seems that Dr. Silva might have had some other issues on his mind when we saw him, though. Too bad. Maybe if we stayed with him we could have found some bricks of cash stashed away in his office!

We just returned from our appt with Dr. Bahadori. What a great experience! They have a great office staff; last week we got a call to get all of the insurance information and then Monday we got a call to confirm the appt. Our appt was at 9:20 this morning and we were called back at 9:10. Nurse took down all of our info and asked quite a few questions, etc. Dr. Bahadori was in the office within minutes of her leaving and spent quite a bit of time with us. After meeting with him, we saw the audiologist and she performed several tests. All-in-all it was a great experience and it was worth the drive into Fairfax during rush hour.

Maybe due to Dr. Silva's issues Dr. Bahadori's office is on their best behavior..or maybe it is just the Fairfax office..good to know.

I saw Dr. Silva for a consult about my tonsils about a year or so ago. I heard he was great, but I didn't really like his demeanor. I didn't end up doing anything, but that had more to do with how painful a tonsillectomy is for an adult, rather than anything having to do with Silva himself.

I took my newborn daughter to Bahadori a few weeks ago, and we really, really liked him. A lactation consultant diagnosed her with an anterior tongue-tie, which is a largely undiagnosed condition, and it's one that most doctors don't know about. After seeing another ENT who told us that the condition doesn't exist, we saw Dr. Bahadori, who knew about anterior tongue-tie and treated my daughter for it the same day. He said that a lactation consultant was the one who had him get himself educated about it! Another really impressive thing is that we were originally told that there would be a 6 week wait to see Bahadori, but because it was a newborn with a feeding issue, he managed to work us in the same week I called for an appointment.

Silva's closer to Ashburn, but in our experience, it was worth the drive out to Reston to see Bahadori.
