Today is payday, and my company stiffed me $4300 for a Lean Six Black Belt course I am taking. I was in a REALLY bad mood...until I read the last few posts.

    Thanks T8 & MrLinux!! [IMG]

No foolin around this snowstorm. Not a regular pickup with a small blade doing the job, there is a large front-end loader out plowing our street as I type.

....and the snow is wet and very heavy. Get out there early and frequently and be kind to your back!

it looks like the snowplows are very active in the neighborhood. They have been up and down Vestals several times this afternoon/evening.

    Re: Roads

HOA snow removal people are doing a great job under difficult circumstances.

Has anyone been out on the roads today? We may have to do a rescue mission to pick up the in-laws who don't have heat or electricity.

I walked the dogs. We saw two non-snow removal vehicles for a one hour walk. If you must rescue them then you must. Roads (major, e.g., Claiborne and Waxpool) have been "plowed". I think they are in the process of becoming ice. I would go while they are snow.

I'm pretty impressed with the HOA contractors as well. I know some of my neighbors are whining about snow blocking their driveways when they plow, but they're just gonna have to get over it. There realy isn't anything they can do about it. They are running out of places to put the snow.

Had to head out to do a rescue mission to my folks (they live in Leesburg and lost power at 1AM). The roads are definitely not ideal, but considering the circumstances, the snow removal teams have done an excellent job. I'd recommend folks stay home if they can, b/c it's slick out there.

Well the electric went out at 5am here over near Broadrun. It just came back on and I have been trapped in my townhouse with the dog. I have an SUV but cant get out of the court. Thank Dominion for a Great job getting our power back on. I was starting to go into survial mode! I was going to put my fridge food in a plastic tub outside on the deck!!
Please everyone be safe and warm!!

Kudos to the HOA snow removal contractors. They have been up and down the street regularly since the storm started and have been doing a great job!

VDOT hasn't made it to our neighborhood street yet. Not that I'm going anywhere to care...

It took several days for VDOT to get to us after the December storm. I'm not expecting them until midweek.
