My good ergonomic (bent) snow shovel threw its last pitch today. I went over to Home Depot and they are still out.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement snow shovel?

I was able to complete one side of my driveway, my neighbor's driveway, dug out the fire hydrant, heat pump, and 1/3 of my sidewalk all in 2 days' work. I still have an old 'back breaker' snow shovel, but can only use it for small periods at a time. I'll resume the sidewalk in the morning...time to watch the Saints beat the Colts now...

Wish I could help you with where you can get one. So I guess you think the ergonomic ones really make a difference? I haven't tried one but with all this snow I think buying a second snow shovel would be a good idea for us...

At this point you'd have better luck finding a snow shovel in Louisiana than you would around here.

Surprise! I just bought one about an hour ago at Home Depot. They arrived while I was shopping.

We just called the home depot in Ashburn and they said they had no shovels, but the Leesburg home depot said they had a lot of shovels. Not sure what kind or how long they will last. Might want to give them a call. We are headed out there now.

I know it sounds goofy, but I actually just ordered a couple shovels online (from Sears' site). It was only $8 and change to have two shovels shipped by ground (one is a standard straight shovel with a metal edge, and the other is an ergonomic shovel with metal edge). I figure that's well worth it since I was getting sick of running around trying to see if anybody had them in-stock. They won't be here for the few inches we're supposed to get this week, but I figure our current shovel (which is on its last legs) will survive through that.

As soon as I saw your post I ran out to Home Depot and they were all out. A shipment of 150 arrived this morning, but was all gone in 45 minutes...even with a limit of 2/per person.

I guess I'll keep searching...I need to find one before tomorrow's storm which they are now calling for 10"+ more of the white stuff.

Hmmm... I paid about $12 for the one I bought this morning. Anybody wanna make me a deal? Totally just kidding but good luck. We just happened across this one. In fact, we were getting into the car when i saw a guy walking out with one. I asked him and he said they just came in. So I went back in and got one! Try Bed Bath and Beyond if you venture that far - they sometimes carry them.

You could check out the garden shovels and look for a "coal shovel" this is the type I used as a kid, as the snow shovels would not work on ice/snow that was pushed into the driveway of my house. I grew up on a snow emergency route (3 lanes into DC) and plows would bury the driveway and sidewalk.

This shovel also works well loading mulch into a wheelbarrow when you have a couple of yards delivered.

    good luck.

Wegmans - no luck either. Now that the snow coming is another 10-20 inches - maybe I should be looking for a snow blower...probably even harder to find :(
