No Trash Pick up on February 8th

    Due to the snowstorm, Patriot Disposal will not be picking up trash on Monday, February 8th. Normal service is anticipated to resume on Thursday, February 11th.

    Hey Maureen, Just wondering how the mail is going to get delivered since no plows get to the curb in front of them. At least a 4-5 foot area of snow before you can acess the mailboxes - and no place to put it all , unless we drop it back on the melted street.

    I saw mailman skip any houses that he could not reach the mailbox .... If you cleared a path to the mailbox ..you got mail ... otherwise ..next house ...

    We had to shovel half the street in front of our driveway to get to the plowed part, we included the area around the mailbox because we got a nastygram from the post office several years ago that the path that we shoveled to our box was not big enough ... that the mail carriers are not to leave their vehicles and if we did not make room for the vehicle to pull right up, we would have to go to the postoffice to pick up our mail.

    I saw the mailman on our street today. He got out of his truck at every house that had a walking path shoveled to their mailbox. No path, no mail. But I did personally see him get out of his truck and walk the several steps to the mailbox.

    I'm pretty sure the mailbox is next to your driveway... your path cut for your driveway is simply extended to out in front of your mailbox.

    As to where to put it.. you have a yard too... or further down the curb.

    well yes we do have a yard, that is mostly covered by the corner snow that was plowed onto it, so forget that. Kaos came home and cut a nice wide path to the mailbox, we'll see.

    And for everyone who put BAGS of garbage out on Monday - will you PLEASE remove them and put them away until Thursday??!!! At least until the plows are finished!

    Any news whether there will be trash pickup tomorrow? I completely understand if there is no pickup. I just want to prepare if there is one.

    We cut a path from the street wide enough for the mail deliverer to walk. Finally got mail Yesterday!

    I haven't received any official word, but my guess is probably not. As soon as I get something from Patriot I'll post it here and on the home page.
