Just saw a truck go by (Marsh Creek Drive) my house. Would have been real nice to know they were picking up. My garage is seriously overflowing with contractor bags full of garbage.

You certain they were actually 'picking up' and not just driving through? I have never heard of Patriot doing normal pickup on a Saturday and Maureen confirmed earlier this week that they would start picking up again next week.

I was just driving up Ridgeway (around 9:15am) this morning and passed the Patriot truck picking up garbage. Me, too - had I known there was going to be garbage service, I would have left the garbage can out.

Patriot just picked up on my street off of Ridgeway. Wasn't able to get my trash out in time before they left. Thoguht it was strange that folks put trash out last night. How did they know?

Yes, they were picking up, not just driving though. They are going to be hating life on Monday.

Yes, I just got stuck behind them on Chickacoan as I was coming back from Dunkin Donuts. They were definitely picking up trash. Not sure if they will make their way to Vestals Gap or not, but we will put out our can just in case.

Sounds like Patriot has some serious communication issues. On the 11th, calls to their office indicated that all trash pickups would resume on Monday the 15th. As far as I know, today is Saturday the 13th. Maybe Patriot has found some sort of 'time machine' enabling them to pickup trash from the future?

They better be picking up trash again on Monday as planned or I know a lot of residents will be quite 'ticked' off....

My guess ----so many people had left their trash out the last few days that when they did a drive through today to make sure they could maneuver the roads come Monday they decided to pick it up. The few times they have had to cancel pickups the next trash day has been a nightmare for them. I do not think they planned to do a pick up at all but even getting a little out of the way helps some residents and makes their job on Monday a little easier.

    They probably called Patriot themselves.

Would also like to add...people had their trash out for Thursday's pick-up and I can gurantee if Patriot did not pick it up, the garbage would have stayed on the curb until Monday. I'm glad they picked up because our neighbors had multiple bags and recycling bins heaped on the sidewalk! Nice.

I agree, our garage is overflowing with trash and if they don't pickup on Monday, I'm going to have no where to put it all.

Maybe it is time for Broadlands to relook into the contract with Patriot. Over in Brambleton, AAA completed trash pick-up on both of the scheduled days last week with no problems. Plus, AAA has a great recycling program that gives you rewards for recycling (and a huge recycling toter). Just a thought.

Patriot could NOT pick up on our regular days here as they use the Loudoun County Dump. Since the Loudoun County Government was closed on Monday and Thursday - our pick up days - it was impossible for them to do. Maybe AAA dumps in Farifax or maybe Brambleton gets picked up the 2 days last week the county was open.

As for the recycling program there is NO trash compnay that recycles more products then Patriot and had you requested it you too could have received a larger recycling tote here at no added cost.
By the way the HOA did have AAA here years ago needless to say their customer service and threats, plus their extravagant pick up fees we decided to part ways.

I back Staci on her opinion of AAA, they are not a viable option. Extortion comes to mind with the way they tried to treat Ashburn Farm. The Farm no longer uses them because of their threatening business tactics and poor customer service.

I think Patriot is doing a GREAT job. no company ever meets every expectation of every home owner, but Patriot is much better than whoever we had previously. i've seen them pick up loose trash and recycling that flies out of bins not properly secured by residents. the grass is always greener- ask Brambleton residents about AAA and I bet you'll get as many that complain as those who will praise, JUST like Patriot.

I am in a community served by AAA - they did not pick up last week. Their auto-message says pick-up resumes Monday. Communication not great, but at least something.

Still waiting for our HOA to agree to their recycling program - if only to get a large dumpster bin for our recycling items instead of two buckets. We put out way more recycling than regular trash - and points-system aside, it sure would save on blowing trash to have a dumpster for that stuff too.

Very happy with Patriot, but just wanted to note that the large recycling toter is not free. It's $10 and it's the best $10 I ever spent. We recycle A LOT and it's just now getting close to full having missed the last recycling day.

actually a lot of folks put it out the night before, on Friday evening. I mentioned it to my wife after I had been out that evening and thought it was strange since Maureen had posted that pickup wasn't until Monday. There were some folks who had it out Thurs morning of course but so much more came out on Friday night, it seemed so odd. Oh well.

Patriot will pick up Mon. The Sat pick up was an added service. Unfortunately, the HOA office did not get the word earlier enough to notify residents that the trucks would be through on Sat.

I thought it was against the covenants to leave the totter out on the street on non pickup days!
