The Old Broadlands Pub & Grill, has been taken over by new management and has been COMPLETELY redone. It officially opened today with a quiet opening as there are still a some new touches the owner wants to put in place. Atmosphere was great, no smoke smell left, lots of TV's everywhere an all new menu (even a kids menu). The owner really wants to be part of the community so stop in say hi have a drink, try some of the new food, and bring the whole family. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.

    Not necessarily true.

They can allow smoking if a seperate room is completely closed off and on its own HVAC system.

We went Friday night (2.26) for dinner around 7pm. The bar area was pretty crowded, but there weren't a lot of people at the "tables". We sat down and the waitress took our drink order. When she came back we ordered Potato Skins (6$). 20 minutes later they came out (all 4 of them). They were good, but 6$ for 4 potato skins was quite a bit. Before our appetizer came out we ordered our meal (Burrito, Fettuccine with Chicken, Kids Shrimp and a baked potato with pulled BBQ pork). BTW, the waitress did not write our order down)

So we waited, waited and then 30 minutes later our meal came. Here's what we got: Burrito (with the wrong wrap and wrong ingredients) - Kids Chicken (not Kids Shrimp) - Fettuccine with Chicken (order right, except chicken was in the pasta not on top- no problem) - Baked potato with pulled BBQ (NO Pulled pork and it was cold).

The waitress did apologize, but at this point I was done. She took two of our meals off the check, but the overall service was awful. I wanted to leave a penny for tip, but I didn't.

We will not be returning to this place....

We have been to Broadlands Sports Bar a few times and our experience has always been great! We love the homemade potato chips...they are very yummy. We have also ordered the wings and they were delish. I will admit some of their food tends have a little more spice than I like...for instance the shrimp poppers were very good but a little spicy for my liking. Our food has always come out rather quickly and we haven't had an experience like the above mentioned.

They also have great drink specials and they run a wing special on Weds. evening...I think they are .50 wings. They have done an amazing job remodeling the place and it is very open and nice. We will be back for sure.

We've been twice and had good experiences. The second time we went, they were out of the chicken alfredo, but my son got the chicken fingers instead and loved them. I wouldn't recommend the veggie stir fry (very underwhelming), but I'm not expecting fantastic food from this place. Decent food, good service and good atmosphere is what we got both times, and we'll be back.....

( Btw, my husband loved the alfredo when he got it, he subbed the spicy sausage for the chicken and was very happy with it)

now the smoking has moved right by the front door outside...that's almost just as irritating.

I was over in that plaza the other day and all of the smokers were congregated right outside the front door. I was several doors down at the nail place and STILL walked through a waff of smoke.

I have no desire to visit that place if I have to walk through that garbage just to get inside. Sorry old BP&G! You lost a customer here!

ACK! If smokers congregate near the front door, I will never patronize that business since I hate hate cigarette and cigar smoke. It gets on my clothes and I don't want my wife and daughter have to wade through smokers/smoke to get in. I'd rather go to an establishment where smokers aren't around the front door.

If the owner moves the smokers elsewhere well away from the door, I would consider coming in. Otherwise, forget it. We won't be customers at any establishment where smokers congregate around the front door. It just will kill our appetites and desire to be customers there.

Sorry but wanted to add my .02!

not a true statement. I'll be happy to never walk in that place so long as i need to walk through 8 people outside smoking. I could care less...there's 1,000 places in the area to go. I'm just pointing out to the oblivious smoker that it's a little bit annoying and rude to stand in the way of the front door creating a wall of smoke. note----> IN THE WAY of the front door. just move off to the side...and get over yourself.

If they move off to just one side then they are smoking in front of another stores door.

IMO, BP&G needs to ask their smoking customers to walk down that middle corridor and smoke at the BACK entrance (if it does indeed go all the way through) or smoke somewhere out in the parking lot, on non-rainy days of course.

Why restrict that to non-rainy days? So that the smokers don't catch colds?

It's not like they're especially concerned about their health anyway.

    :p

If a smoker is not going to walk 10 yards to move away from the front door, they are not going to smoke out in the rain either. I was "trying" to be somewhat of a realist. :)

We went to the bspg, looks good, love the remodel, but that's where the lovefest ended unfortunately. Service and food were equally disappointing. Music was jarring since it was very loudd and turned off and on suddenly, songs just stopped before the end like someone picked up the needle! We"ll likey go for drinks since its close, and might try the apps, but we are done with burgers here.
