In case anyone doesn't know it yet... I only occasionally visit Starbucks and today decided to go ... and it was gone. So I had to go to the one in Ashbrook and the line was out the door!!

I wish Ed from Shoes Cup and Cork in Leesburg would open a location in Ashburn- THAT is a fabulous neighborhood cafe!

IN a related note on Starbucks, they have 2 new drink sizes to round out their offerings:

SEATTLE, April 1, 2010 –Starbucks announced today the introduction of two new beverage sizes in stores in the U. S. and Canada this Fall. The announcement follows a year of research and direct customer feedback through MyStarbucksIdea.com requesting even more choice in beverage size.

“Whether customers are looking for a large or small size, the Plenta and the Micra satisfy all U.S. and Canada customers’ needs for more and less coffee,” said Hugh Mungis, Starbucks VP of Volume.

Plenta™ (128 fl oz) and Micra™ (2 fl oz) cups arrive in Starbucks stores this Fall. Derived from Italian word for plentiful or small, the Plenta™ delivers coffee lovers record amounts of the world’s finest coffee beverages while the Micra™ delivers a quick and satisfying morsel of goodness.

I'm pretty confident that was an April Fools gag posted on the fan page of Facebook. But maybe you knew that and I just blew the joke. ;)

Am I the only person in America that thinks Starbucks coffee is overpriced and mediocre, at best. I am astonished that people stand in line for it!

nope- i can't stomach it, totally overrated imho.

SHOES on the other hand, fresh and fabulous. so much character in this place, and the menu really is a delight. if you "topeka" shoes cafe leesburg review, you will see loads of reviews for the place, but here;s a link to their website too! :)

Me, originally from the Seattle area, does not like Starbucks. I have to agree with you.. In Washington (in Pierce County where I grew up )there is an espresso stand/drive-thru's, buildings or what have you on every corner, at every gas station lots, across the street from one another and believe it or not it isn't Starbucks... I wish it was like that here.. I bet they can make lots of money with commuters.. (i.e. an espresso/coffee stand drive-thru in the parking lot corner of the Shell gas station by the Ice Rink) or something like that.. I have always like non-chain coffee/espresso places the best..
