What the heck? We go to Disney ALL THE TIME and I don't think we've ever paid more than $200 for a round trip ticket on United to Orlando. We're going in October, and the best I can do is $351? Seriously? Checked on Kayak and United is averaging around $100 bucks more than everyone else. I hate to be disloyal, but to save $400 on a family trip, I will be.

The economy and gas prices are stabilizing and the airlines are pricing accordingly. This seems to have happened within the last week or two. Keep your eyes open for a sale or hope they come down closer to October.

We're going in late October and just booked on JetBlue for about $205 per person - AFTER taxes. And first bag is free on JetBlue.

Southwest only flies BWI-MCO nonstop from what I found; have to go through Midway (WHAT?) from Dulles.

Also look at AirTran - only one nonstop a day, and the time wasn't ideal, but it was pretty cheap, too.

I guess I have to figure out how much those frequent flyer miles mean to us vs. the extra cost. And I'm way too much of a coward to not get TaterTot II a seat--so no lab baby here. We only did that one time with Connor and it was awful. Unfortunately, when you dip into the Tate gene pool, you surrender to the notion that your children must be in restraints. :)

T8girl, keep in mind that EVERY seat on JetBlue has satellite tv which is awesome when you are traveling with kids; it will probably keep Connor busy while you can tend to the younger one. Just a thought...

Additionally, when we travelled on JB with our little ones, we would sit in the very last row of the plane. We were away from most people, close to the restrooms and better still, very close to the flight attendants who always made a point to pay special attention to us back there with our little kids. My suggestion is whatever you decide to fly, consider the last row.

Southwest is now direct from Dulles. Please check them out before you make your decision. They don't show up on most search engines.

We travel all the time with our 3 kids (who have been under 2 at various times). I would suggest you reconsider getting an extra ticket. Flight time to Orlando is only 1:45. I think you would have really good chance of having extra seats available anyway.

Southwest is about $208 after taxes for a mid-Oct week.

Not sure where you see Southwest coming up direct from Dulles. Would have preferred to fly them, but everything I see on SW is through Midway - a big disadvantage with the little ones....

I see SWA flights 999 and 3426 flying nonstop from Dulles (IAD) to Orlando (MCO) everyday except Saturdays. On Saturdays, SWA flights 2670 and 3185 fly nonstop.

This is straight from the Southwest Airlines website http://www.southwest.com/
