Thanks Cliff! Wondering if you or Staci might be able to clarify a few things so we know how to interpret the map...

Do I understand this correctly to mean that if you're in the Screening Area (outside the RPA) & "improving" less than 2500 sq ft there would be no additional costs for surveys, approvals, etc.

Also, does the map you posted delineate between the RPA & RPA Screening Area? I've been trying to get the online link to work but it's temperamental.

That's the problem - there is no true definition of the RPA today - because the land surveys haven't been done. Instead the proposal is to use the screening method as a 'probably area that needs investigation'. So if you are in the RPA screening area.. you are caught by the dragnet... and have to fight your way out of being included in the RPA once things are actually measured.

If you are in the screening area, it will need to be determined whether or not there is RPA on your property. Exactly how this process will take place is unknown. If, for argument's sake, it is determined that there is no RPA on your property and your improvement is less than 2500 sq ft, then it's business as usual.
On the map, known RPA is in dark green. The RPA screening area is in brown.
There is a legend at the bottom of the map.

Thanks Cliff!! If it is determined you're in the RPA does that mean you will not be able to build under any circumstances?
