I do not believe there are any anchors in the concrete there for me to secure a ladder in that area - but I am happy to look into it. I believe at SW there are ladders in front of the middle guard chairs that you could use and that would keep you out of the lap lane and at CC there is a ladder on the bath house side that could be used as well.
**Just as a note **In general lap swimmers do not mind people crossing the lane to get in and out of the pool it is the people who hang out in the lane when there is a whole pool that is the hard part.

Is the extra lane going to be set up at SW or CC? The newsletter that came yesterday did not mention a 9 pm close time for SW. Are the extended hours still going to be in effect from tomorrow at SW?
BTW - Staci thanks for getting the rope for the extra lane!

Yes - I'm a lap swimmer and I certainly don't mind anyone crossing the lane to get in and out, it's a whole different story when there are people haning out in the lap lane. Thanks Staci for talking to the life guards, all of us lap swimmers appreciate it.

The extra rope will be going in at SW as that is where I am seeing and hearing the demand right now. Plus it does not take up as much of the pool at SW as it does at CC.
July 1st - July 31st SW pool closes at 9pm. I forgot to make the changes in the July newsletter, but figured it would be a nice surprise :D

On behalf of all lap swimmers at the SW pool, THANK YOU for adding the second swim lane. What a difference it has made when there are multiple lap swimmers (which has been quite often in my experience).

One final comment about the lifeguards is that they are extremely inconsistent in their approach to monitoring the lap lanes. Children and teenagers have continued to hang out in the lanes, hang onto the ropes, etc. This is not every time, but it does happen frequently. It's really annoying to have to do someone else's job (i.e., the lifeguard and parent), or worse, being focused on swimming and (because your peripheral vision is not optimum when wearing goggles) running into a child who is in the swim lane or having one inadvertently kick you because he finally sees you coming and tries to swim out of the way (ouch!).

In any case, thanks again to whoever made the additional swim lane happen.

Happy Labor Day weekend to you all!

    Two items.

I was at Southern Walk pool yesterday afternoon and noticed it was back to only one lap lane. I hope this was only for the memorial day weekend. Can someone please confirm this.

On driving past the Souther Walk pool this morning I notice cars in the parking lot around 6:30am. Is the pool already open for morning lap swim this year? If so, what are the days/hours this year?

    Thank you

If it was at SW pool it was probably a swim team/ outside group that is renting the facility. Morning lap swim is normally at the CC pool and starts after school gets out

Does anyone know if adult swim is still open this week (first week of school)?
