I am planning to have a family get-together to see golden leaves on Skyline Drive (Shenandoah National Park), has anyone rented a cabin or lodge that can suggest the place ? I am looking for a big cabin for 12 people.

    Thanks in advance,

We have stayed at Big Meadows for decades. The past few times we've rented the cabins around the Lodge at Big Meadows. The are nothing fancy but are clean, efficient and comfortable. No TV or AC but that's never been a problem for us. There are also rooms available in the lodge. The lodge has food, but you might want to bring picnic items and cook out. There's a very large picnic area with tables and grills right next to the lodge. Any other food options are down the mountain and about 45 to 60 minutes away. Some rooms have fireplaces and living rooms. I am not aware of any big cabins that sleep 12, but you can get adjacent connecting rooms. They book up so I'd check quick about this fall. Like I said there is nothing fancy with this place, the appeal and the beauty is the outdoors and that's where you'll want to be anyway.

Couple other things. The food is very good at the lodge, and they also have a pub downstairs that usually has local entertainment playing on the weekends.

Great. Thanks for the information. I will look that up, and see if I could book 3-4 rooms for 12 people.
