I wanted to provide an updated review of Dr. Valerie Woo & her firm NOVA Pediatric Dentistry. She advertises in the Broadlands Newsletter and was recommended by several close friends of mine.

This past weekend my 3 year old fell off the Bar Counter top (not my idea to put him up there, my MIL did and yes she is banned from the house for a while) and ended up falling face first onto our hardwood floors.

As with any facial/head injury you can expect a lot of blood, but this accident was bad and I mean really bad. I couldn't tell if he had broken his nose and/or knocked out his teeth. Once I finally cleaned the copious amount of blood I realized he had several pieces of his teeth embedded into his upper lip.

I called NOVA Pediatric Dentistry yesterday first thing in the AM, unfortunately they could not see me yesterday, but recommended another local dentist. However and much to my surprise I received a follow up call from Dr Woo's office asking how our appointment went and if I was available to bring my son in this evening.

I was very impressed with the follow up from the "front office" and even more impressed with the dental staff. They were incredibly kind and patient with my son. When Dr Val examined my son, she was kind and very gentle with him. Since our appointment was one of the last ones of the day, we had wait a little longer than normal...but their waiting room had so many things to keep my son occupied. The extra touch of fresh coffee (from their Keurig), computers (so he could play NickJr games) and fish tank made our wait enjoyable.

After my son's exam, Dr. Woo was very patient with me and she answered all my questions, considering the "treatment" for my son's injury will be extraction of his 4 baby teeth or 4 root canals and crowns...I had a lot of questions and concerns.

In summary I would highly recommend NOVA Pediatric Dentistry. Their motto is "With a Mom's Touch" and after today I can confidently say there is truth in their advertising; they truly have "a mom's touch".

I hope your little guy's mouth is feeling better. I remember when my younger brother fell off his bike and landed on his face - not pretty and very painful.

My little guy has been over there too, but just for a routine checkup. My husband took him and was very impressed.

I hope your MIL is feeling good and guilty. And that she springs for the treatments! ;)

Hope your son is doing better. Sounds painful for the little guy to go through.
