Richfield road closure at 7?

I think that's the name of the road--it's the one by Strayer.
Anyone know if this is permanent? There's a sign that says the road is closed on 9/2 but says nothing else.
It would totally suck and make no sense considering it's a wonderful way to bypass the ridiculousness that is route 7 between ashburn village blvd and 28. And if you don't know about it, Russel Branch Road runs parallel to 7 from ash vill blvd to right before 28.
Whenever I ride it in the a.m., it's only me and about 10 other people watching gridlock to our left.
I can't find anything on vdot but haven't looked too hard.
Anyone know anything?

 

This is closing because the Rt7/LCP interchange is now completely open (all ramps).

Aw snap. I did see that page but didn't read the blurb since at a quick glance it looked like it was from April and not a recent article.
That stinks!! LCP is a good half mile or more from that little trick that we've loved to use over the last several months.
I suppose as long as the signal is removed it should keep things going (let's hope!)

 

I still don't get it. Folks that go to Strayer will have to get off at LCP and double back and that particular stretch of road will still be there, but you can't get out or in?
Kind of stupid if you ask me.
Drove past today and it was still there, traffic light and all.
I was pissed because I had to drive from Leesburg to Reston at 8:00 a.m. and really would have liked to have used Richfield.
