More Airplane Departures/ Noise?

We are pretty new to this part of Ashburn...but the last two weeks between 9:30-now, almost midnight, there has been WAY MORE flights departing right over the house (off Glebe View/Truro Parish). Has something changed?? I know the overseas flights are taking off but I think they changed direction, it wasn't this obvious or frequent (like every 6 minutes) as the last two weeks. Anyone else notice?

 

The easternmost north/south runway is closed for a few weeks for maintenance, requiring more use of the westernmost rwys.

I was up last night with it too...and I noted every 3 minutes!!

 

Thanks Cliff! We've been here 5.5 years and the flights lately are a lot more frequent and at a lot more times during the day. My husband couldn't sleep last night it was so bad.

 

I called the airport noise number 703-572-8215 a few days ago and they told me nothing changed when I asked. Oh well. :rolleyes3:

 

Thanks--I checked the airport noise control site and noticed the paving announcement regarding rerouting of planes...thankfully, weather permitting, it should be completed in early October.

 

You all are aware that you moved near an airport, right?

 

Yeah but sometimes the noise is louder than usual. Ashburn is great if you do much traveling but it does have its down side.
