I just moved to this community and am looking for a good car wash place near by. I have been going to Mr WASH while living in Fairfax area.

Is there a soft cloth car wash place near Broadland community ?

Thank you all for your help.

    :)

My husband's car is his baby! He takes it to this place in Herndon...don't remember the name but it is all hand wash. It's located off of Centreville Road in the Clock Tower Shopping center...or actually across the street from the Clock Tower Shopping Center. There's a CVS, 7-11 and either an Office Depot or Staples in the center where the car wash is located.

The carwash I believe is called the Super 7 or 7 wash. They have changed ownership a few times; made it hit or miss for finding them even open. When they were open, they did a good job.

As for other carwashes, you have Countryside off of route 7 (just east of Dulles Town Center) and Sweetwater Splash off of route 28 in sterling (down sterling blvd, on you left). There's one in Leesburg off of Catoctin Circle (sp?) and route 15.

They are opening a new car wash in ashburn farm behind merchant's.

I haven't been overly pleased with Countryside; happier with Sweetwater. Your mileage may vary...

sweetwater is good for getting a self-service stall. Their automatic one you can go all kinds of service levels including interiors, etc.

I prefer sweetwater in the early AM to get a self-service stall without someone waiting on you

I get the Guppy exterior-only wash at Sweetwater, unless I'm due to clean the inside windows myself, because they always streak the inside windows.

There's a good place on the corner of Rt 7 and Baron Cameron (on the right side as you are traveling East bound). Sorry, I can't remember the name of it but I think it's Three C's or something like that. They also do a hand-wax for about $50 (may have increased). It's just a little more painful to get to than the others. Good luck!

I've been to Three C's a couple of times. They do a nice job. They have coupons in one of the mailers or coupon magazines we get in the mail (Sorry, I cant remember which one) if you're interested in saving a few dollars.

Why are there no places around here with do-it-yourelf stall washes? The kind where you can park in the stall and theres the quarter-fed high pressure water/soap gun and you can take your own bucket/wash mitt/soap. I refuse to pay someone to wash my car.

Next to Sweetwater, and run by the same family, is a do it yourself stall wash. It is on Sterling Blvd, on the left coming from Route 28.

Cool. I'm never in that part of town, didn't know it was there. It'd be nice if there was one closer. :(

Does anyone know what the car wash place is called and will be like (self serve or full serve) behind the Merchants Tire place in the Ashburn Farm center?

Neil, nothing wrong with garden hose, nozzle, bucket and rags .. but I gather it might be little difficult when winter comes ...

Come say .. December - February ... your garden hose will freeze ... nozzle should be turned off ... bucket will contain one big block of ice ...and rag will be needed to blow your nose due to the cold you will get washing your car in your driveway [:I]

Thanks all for your help ... Got some good places to try out !!

I prefer the high pressure water wands at the stall booths.

What? That's crazy! Wouldn't you rather save your money and get the personal satisfaction of having washed your own car with your very own garden hose?

You know, if you would spend just a few minutes a day cleaning your car, it would be a lot easier to keep up with it and you wouldn't need to spend your hard-earned money to rent a fancy "high pressure water wand."

Just by my rough calculations, if you washed your car in your driveway by yourself and invested the $5 that you would save, you would have $74,532 in only 10 years and 2.43 gajillion dollars after only 20 years. Think about it...

    :D

Save those comments for folks spending money to have a 'professional' wash thier car. .50 cents to get the job done in half the time is worth it to me.

Jeez. A bit testy, aren't we? Sounds like someone doesn't like to be told how to spend their money.

    Hmmmmm.....

Sheesh ... what did I start .. it was meant as a humorous comment !! :(

Of course, my wife read that and sent me an email stating:

    " ... as if you'd know !! "

Neilz, I would bet my last dollar that Pats was being humorous too.

Me, I bought my own high pressure washer. Karcher 1400PSI (fairly weak), electric, a few attachments - does a pretty good job of getting most of the dirt off and removing the brake dust buildup. Great during the winter months when I do not feel like dipping my hands into a bucket.

Of course I was joking. Isn't that what the smiley face usually means? Not to mention the fact that "gajillion" is not a word.

I did, however, intend to make a point. My post and brim's predictable defensive response were meant to highlight that maybe we should think twice about criticizing what others choose to do with their time and/or money. (And maybe we don't need to go out of our way to criticize/damage the fundraising efforts of our fellow neighbors, either, but that's a point for another thread...)
