there are several threads about this topic, but I'll post to say NOT go to Dr. Patel in Broadlands on Truro Parish. Look in the other threads for information regarding him and other dentists in the area.

We take our kids (8, 7, 5) to Virginia Dental Solutions. My youngest was 4 when he first went there. The kids get a better cleaning and it's more personable and not nearly as frightening.

Both of my daughters have been seeing Dr. Valerie Woo on Loudoun County Parkway for years now. She is WONDERFUL!! My youngest even had a frenulectomy in March and Dr. Val did a remarkable job. My girls LOVE going to the dentist!

We see Dr. Mike Gazori in Landsdowne. We were thoroughly digusted by Dr. Patel, and Dr. Woo didn't want to do her own diagnosis, and wanted to believe Dr. Patel. Not good customer service in my opinion. We love Dr. Gazori.

We go to Ashburn Childrens Dentistry behind the IHOP (www.kidzsmile.com). We are very happy with Dr. Rishita and she's great with my son who has severe sensory issues and it took until he was age 6 to get a full cleaning & xrays (we've been seeing dentists 2xyear for him since he was 2). He had a frenectomy last year and it went really well for him, amazingly enough. Our 2 girls go as well, but they don't have as many issues as my son does and are very easygoing. The hygenists are great, the kids can watch movies during the cleanings and Dr. Rishita knows who we are when we come in and can relate to whichever of my other kids aren't there at the time (they all have frenulum issues so it's an ongoing discussion for treatment - all diff. approaches)

My husband did take my son to see Dr. Patel while we were transitioning from our dentist in Reston to one in Ashburn. The experience was horrible and so we moved on to Ashburn Childrens Dentistry.

+1 on VDS- I am a dentaphobe and they are very kind to me! My son has seen them since he was 5 and they've done a wonderful job- he actually LIKES going to the dentist! :screwy:

if you google "review virginia dental solutions" you might find opinions online about them... ahem.
