Today at 3:18 pm I witnessed 3 young boys and a young girl (driver) steal a package that was leaning against a garage door at a home on Ridgeway Drive, immediately across from MILL RUN.

OF COURSE, I followed them through every street in this neighborhood as they tried to lose me. I will give a description below. The homeowner confirmed that the package contained a wireless router, delivered today. The police have a VIENNA address for the car.

All three boys were Asian, with pants on the ground. The kid that stole the package had a winter hat on, black and white, the kind with the long braided sides hanging down. The driver was a young girl with glasses, and the car was a gold Camry.

She dropped the boys out on SMALL BRANCH?? I think that was the name, it intersects Claiborne on the Hillside ES side of Broadlands. Be on alert, 3 Asian boys, two wearing hoodies, and the other with a ski hat on.

The sheriff said he will request a search warrant for the home and the car of the driver. I'd bet money she'll roll over on the boys.

Bless your heart for having the courage to get involved. I'm glad this one will turn out ok. Hopefully these thieves will have learned their lesson and hopefully anyone else who thinks of pulling this in OUR neighborhood will think again.

I saw the arrest at Wendy's, too. My daughter and I were curious as to what was going on.

FWIW, I'm going to request a signature on all of my packages. It's a big pain, but at least they can't get stolen.

    Thank you for getting involved.

I've got to say also, the sheriff's dept does a great job! I hope they never see fit to cut their funding, worth every penny. Nice people, professional and get the job done.

FYI, the expensive stuff you can also forward to the UPS store and pick up there, costs another 5 or 6 dollars.

Turning into MR parking lot, the kid saw me, turned back and when I made the turn, he swung back, ran to the driveway, grabbed the package and ran to the car. He just looked 'off' from the beginning. So I chased them around! I didn't have my cell phone, argh, but Onstar called the sheriff for me!

That's interesting, I also saw a car in the same area that made me take notice. It was around 5:50pm tonight, on my way home and was coming through Mill Run to turn onto Ridgeway. Pulled off immediately to the right of Ridgeway right at that intersection was a car that peeled out as soon as cars were coming. Thought it was strange that all of a sudden, a car pulled off to the side would peel out of there. They turned onto Laurier into the Villages of Waxpool neighborhood.

Glad the punks got caught. I really have no sympathy for people that go out of their way like this to try to gain at the expense of others. I assume they are minors so probably won't get much done against them but it would be fantasmic if something like their car could be seized because it was used in the crime. That would be sweet justice.
