Seasons closed up right before Christmas. They still have their South Riding location. They said this one just no longer gets enough traffic to keep them in business.

The vacancy has got to be getting close to 50% or better. I am glad the summer of recovery is working.

There are signs up in one of the windows near Mezza that a Thai place is moving in. Thank goodness. What Ashburn needs is a Thai place!

I was disappointed when the La Madeliene that was reportedly going in at the Dulles 28 Center by Wegmans never materialized. I'd like a place like that. Or a non-Starbucks cafe.

Not only that, but they all appear to use the same cookbooks and business plans.

Not sure any restaurants are really going to succeed in business there. Just do not seem to be enough customers, especially at lunch and dinner weeknights. Even good restaurants like Cafe Opera and Mezza Grill are struggling. The combination of high rents, the economy, and the lack of local businesses with employees who eat out would seem to indicate any restaurant would have a hard time becoming a success. I would love to be wrong...
