    Folks,

I have one '8 Processor' Server, three '4 Processor' servers, One Cisco Router, 2 Monitor's and a color Printer. If you buy all the servers, i will throw in Router, 2 Monitors and color Printer in free.

This is great opportunity for you to build your personal lab, very cheaply. Learn new software and upgrade your currently skill set.. such as Linux, Oracle, PeopleSoft Hyperion. Build your LAMP environment. You cannot learn these enterprise software's on your PC's or Laptops.

    * One 8 processor Compaq Servers (DL or ML Series) , 4 GB ram, dual Power-supply, SUSI Controller, and 3 SUSI Drive's. Has NO OS installed. -- $300 -- This used to be a Production Database Server for a fortune 500 firm.

    * Three 4 processor Compaq Servers (6400R), 2 GB ram, dual Power-supply, SUSI Controller, and SUSI Drive's. Has NO OS installed.-- $150 each -- These used to be a Production Application/Web Servers for a fortune 500 firm.

    * One Cisco Router (2500 Series) Including Serial Cable -- &100 (Free if you buy the all the servers)

    * One Brother Color Printer -- $25 (Free if you buy the all the servers)

    * 2 CRT Monitors 14" & 17 " -- $10 each (Free if you buy the all the servers)

Servers in Ashburn, VA, Buyer Picks up, Will not ship, CASH Only

Julie_gw, could you be more specific about the processor speeds?

Based on what you provided, these are pretty old servers which had CPU speeds of between 500-700Mhz. They were Pentium III-based Xeon processors if I'm not mistaken. Those CPUs were manufactured by Intel in 1999...

And if memory serves me correctly (I used to run racks full of these in a past life), they are well over 10 years old at this point. You might want to either sell them for parts on eBay or give them to a kid to play/learn about servers. Personally, I think you're asking way more than what they're worth. Not to mention how heavy they are. Sorry!

You can certainly learn these days on a PC. A decent PC running virtualization software (VMWare, Hyper-V, VirtualBox, etc) can handle all those.

I'd argue that it would be better learning that way so that you also learn about virtualization and learn the software at the same time.

    Thanks

    Thanks Mike & Mr Linux,

You guys are correct in your own right. Yes, these Servers are old, but still useful. I would hate to disassemble and sell them for parts. I am sure someone can learn quite a bit if they are interested.

    Mike,

I would like to differ on the fact, that learning on PC running VM ware, is the same as running web apps similar to running in the real world. Configuring SUSI controllers, Raid5, Network components on static ip's, UNIX, Oracle with complex softwares such as ERP can take troubleshooting to the whole next level. That's what i used them for, when i brought them.

    IMHO.

    Thanks
