Does anyone know the county/school district policy on twins being in the same classroom? We're still a couple of years away from it (my boys are 2) but I was discussing the issue with a friend and realized I didn't know if this was a decision that I would make or if the county was making it for me. Thanks!

When I registered my boys, I was told it is a school to school decision, and at Mill Run they do not put them in the same class. We started at Mill Run in 1st grade, and they are now 3rd graders, and I have to say Mill Run is an amazing school.

I have heard nothing but good things about Mill Run. Makes me glad that this will be our school. Thanks for the info!

I don't know LCPS policy, but I can tell you as an educator that, in my opinion, it is best to separate twins if at all possible. This enables them each to blossom and grow individually.

As a parent, you have the choice of keeping them together or not. In my classroom, I have had a set of twins placed together. It was fine. They had been apart but mom decided it would be easier to keep them together. It depends on your children and how they interact with each other and other kids. My own kids have been in some classes together in high school- no big deal, it was rather nice. :)

As a father of twins, now grown, I wholeheartedly support bradleybear's advice. Having them in the same class might make life a bit easier for parents, but they need to develop as individuals.
