    Dear Residents,

We all know that Broadlands has a lot to offer when it comes to habitats, trails with mature trees and protected green areas.

Throughout the year these areas get a lot of trash that is brought in by winds, rains or by littering.

I am asking your help and support to work together to clean these areas to keep our community beautiful.

Having organized community events are harder to plan because of conflict of scheduling.

    Can You -
    • Help us with identifying these areas that collects trash all the time.

    • Get the residents who live close to these areas to adopt the clean up work.

    • Create a Community Clean Up Week so we can all do it based on our availability.

    • Recognition and Appreciation: For those who participate will be awarded. We will reach out to the area businesses for contributions.

    Please send me your suggestions:
    • When is it a good time to do the Clean Up Week?
    • How to spread the word to recruit volunteers other then youth groups?
    • Do you suggest any other ways to do clean ups? What is it? Would you be willing to help organize it?
    • What are the ways to show "Appreciation" to the residents who will participate?

    Thank You,

Maybe you can talk to the various Scout troops in our neighborhood and assign areas to them. My daughters troop has clean up outings at least twice a year.

Many scout troops do this as a community service in exchange for free use of the community center for their meetings.
