    Hi All

Looking for abit of advice really. Since moving here, we have always gone away for spring break, but this year we are staying here. Does anyone have any good ideas for where to take the kids (8/4) that will hold their interest/tire them out (without potentially tiring me out :2thumbs:)?

Any ideas would be most helpful.
    Thank you in advance

I recommend the Air & Space Museum. They are a great age for it and it is conveniently located. Save for a rainy or cooler spring break day since it is indoors.

National Zoo, Great Country Farms in Bluemont, Frying Pan Park, Glen Echo Park has a puppet theater--maybe they have a show....

    good luck!

Broadlands Nature Center has some programs, or you can just stop by and see the animals at the center. If you don't mine a drive, you can head out to Skyline, there's some easy hiking trails, or just plan a picnic there or nearby.

The fields out at the schools are great for kite flying, or just letting the kids run around. Bring a frisbee or a bat and whiffle ball.

    Hi All

Thanks for all of the ideas they are great. We have done the space museum more than enough times now, but i agree its always good for a rainy day. I havent been to Glen Echo park yet so will look that up.

I am also thinking of doing the Aquarium in Baltimore one day as i think that will hold their attention and maybe the beach one day if the weather is great.

Thanks again everyone, you have all been a real help
    Best regards

during our stay at home vacation we did the Aquarium in BAL this week - FANTASTIC!!! get there early.

we took in an Orioles baseball game that evening after a quick dinner on the inner harbor.

we wandered around DC seeing reseeing monuments and went to the thought provoking American Indian Museum. If you want to get into the Washington monument get tickets EARLY!

Planning to go to the Peeps store in National Harbor (DC) this weekend

we drove to Hanover PA and went to see the Utz potato chip factory and store. Yum!! If we hadnt been to the Gettysburg Civil War Memorial so many times we would have done that too. moving and chilling at the same time. if the north hadn't won, we'd be in a different country on this side of the river....

and we spent hardly anything doing this!
