I agree, bad location! My hubby and I used to go there, but then found many of their menu items are very, very high in sodium and hubby has to watch his intake so we stopped going. It is too bad though!

could be true... the old owner only told me that it was closed, not that anyone else bought it.

so if what you say is true, what do we all think the new owner could do differently to make it succeed? is it possible?

same franchise, same product, same rules- can it work? your opinions please@

I quit going when they ticked me off regarding a service issue. I thought their food and smoothies were ok, but not heads and shoulders above anyone else.

I'm amazed that this is such a problem. In this economy, you would think businesses would bend over backwards to keep customers happy, but a lot of them don't. They don't seem to care whether they lose customers or not.
I will no longer go to Broadlands Brickoven Pizza again due to an issue, and I'm sure they could care less.
    I just don't get it.

That's a HUGE issue in Ashburn- getting good service from people around here can be a real challenge, I know several biz owners who have sold for EXACTLY that reason. i know another major biz that did not come to this areas for that reason as well. they can't hire a minimum wage teen staff that have been raised with enough common sense and good manners to work in a customer service position (THEIR words, not mine, though I agree based on some experiences.) if they hire adults some are bitter that they are in an entry level low paying job and rude, others don't speak enough english to do the job effectively... staffing in ashburn is tough.

that's not to say there AREN'T some great kids working around town- but they are definitely the exception.

This actually was a management decision... not the hired help!

It very well could be re-opening at some point under different management as everything is still in there. I hope that shopping center does well and can keep its tenants. Giant is a nice alternative to Harris Teeter and is rarely crowded, plus has much better self-checkout lanes. Foster's is great, but not sure how they are doing. Amvrosia is a nice place, but can't see how they are surviving as they never seem crowded. Even Panera is usually very slow when we've gone there. Not to mention the light crowds at Red Robin and Bangrak. I am sure they were all hoping Loudoun Station would have had the first phase open by now, but that is still years away. There is a long stretch of vacant storefronts from Amvrosia down to the ATT store (how long until they close too?) that just does not look good for them getting new tenants.

I saw that today too. Maybe they just closed for the winter...or reworked their lease.

On this subject, last week at the Sterling Costco, the gal behind the photo counter was so incredibly rude and bitter I couldn't believe my eyes. Instead of waiting on customers standing there, she stopped to open a cabinet and take a really long drink of a soda. Then stayed by the back wall for another 3 or 4 minutes, with her back to the growing line of customers. There was a young girl there that jumped behind the counter to help, as if it wasn't the other gal's job. She could have easily said, "I'll be right with you" something, but she just turned her back. She obviously does not like her job and I'm shocked because I think the Costco workers tend to be service oriented...in Most cases. When she did come to the front, I asked her about refilling print cartridges, and she pointed with her chin to fill out the photo bags. Man, I can't stand that. To top it all off, one of the cartridges she filled leaked all over the place....grrr.

Just wondering....did you contact the manager there about her? I think it would be appropos to do so if you encounter this stuff from an employee. It doesn't seem right for her to work with customers if she's got an attitude like this.

Nah, if she does it again, then yes I will. It's always a little hectic there, hopefully it was a bad day for her. But let's see how she behaves when I return the leaky cartridge!

I will be very happy if they open back up. Although, since they closed I've switched to SmoothieKing and they are actually better. Much better. But location is everything--especially on the weekends when I'm not headed to work.
