Went there tonight after baseball (around 8pm). Lots of donuts (the ones we got were fresh and not stale). Ice cream line went quick. Helpful staff. There is a huge sign on the side of the building advertising new management AND, on the counter, there are the business cards or the territory manager... I guess they're finally paying some attention to that place. Hope it's not too little, too late.

If they have indeed already turned "the corner", good news travels fast in this hood.

Stopped on my way home tonight for a few donuts, around 4pm. Not a single donut to be had ! Pitiful. How do they manage to stay in business?

My son went at about 11:30 this morning and had a $5 bill. He needed $2 in change and they had to get one $1 bill out of the tip jar and the other one came out of the cashier's wallet.

    Creative, but that'll never work.

I always thought of donuts as a breakfast treat and wouldn't have thought to get one later in the day. No good reason for that, I'm just saying. Maybe that's why DD combines with Baskin Robbins: donuts in the morning and ice cream later on.

Still, if you're going to advertise yourself as a donut shop and be open, you should have some donuts available.

Well, I suspect that in the donut business like in many other retail businesses the key to profitability is how many times a day you can turnover that space. Empty shelves generally mean poor supply management. And if you disappoint too many customers too many times, they will find somewhere else to spend their money. The DD on Route 7 in Leesburg does a much better job of always have donuts available to sell to customers. Perhaps not every variety every time but always enough to satisfy most tastes.

Oh, I think you're right. Most people think of donuts as a breakfast snack. Personally a couple of donuts with a hot cup of tea after a hard day at work is perfect, if not all that healthy !

I don't go that often so I can't make any sweeping statements about the place, but seriously, try to have some donuts made at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. Being out of any sort of donut with sprinkles on it was a non-starter for my little minions and pretty poor showing in my opinion.

I have completely taken the DD Broadlands off my list of treat options. Seems the only thing they sell is the center of a doughnut.

Nope, went there one afternoon last month to buy Munchkins. Guy told me they were all gone and were not making anymore. Great customer service.

Reading all these posts, how does this place stay in business?

Old habits, pure convenience, and a rather captive audience of parents dropping their kids off in the AM (and the drive thru doesnt hurt) Place always has customers... Who needs service excellence with that jackpot :) ?

Well....a new low for me at the Broadlands DD. Walked in at 630 this morning and stood at the counter for 10 minutes (I started timing it after a few minutes). Drive through guy saw me as well as the guy on the floor next to me restocking coffee. Another employee was helping at the drive through, but refused to look towards the counter. I finally asked for help and not one person even acknowledged me.

Walked out and drove down to the DD in Ashburn Villiage. After three years of trying to make this relationship work I'm giving up and moving in with the new Ashburn DD.....

I'm not a huge fan of donuts but wanted something sweet so I went to DD yesterday afternoon (my second time). I was surprised to see the racks fully stocked with donuts because so many posters here complain that they're always out of them. Four teens were standing around looking bored but one came to assist right away.

I think a 10 minute wait is excessive! After 30 seconds I would have spoken up, especially if the workers were not busy.
