Hi, I'm new to Broadlands and I love it, which is why I'm asking about this. I've noticed an increasing amount of litter throughout the neighborhood and was wondering if there are ever community clean-up days here? My old neighborhood in Fairfax had them and it was a a nice way to catch-up (or meet) other families in the neighborhood, teach kids to be responsible and of course, clean up the trash.

That will be nice. We can organize a community clean up and ask for volunteers. People can bring in food and make it a fun event every year.

Wildlife Habitats Committee welcomes the idea. Beer cans and bottles can be recycled so that incentive is supported.

For those who would like to organize it, please send me an e-mail. Let's create an announcement to include in the newsletter. I would suggest that we'll do something in fall. This will give us time to plan and spread the word. To get it in the newsletter for September cleanup we need to submit the announcement by mid August.

    Thank you for your initiative!

Hope to hear from you soon.
