What does it say on the side of the car? What's the name of the security company of the car you are seeing? What times of the day, days of the week, etc have you seen the car with the driver 'sitting there on the side relaxing'?

Next time I see the car, I'll get the name and let you know. Haven't seen the car lately as I haven't been driving on that road lately... It was last I remember, during some of the week days as well as on a weekend. THat's the last I remember. I didn't think it was a big deal but when someone on the forum asked where the security car was, etc...I thought to mention it here. If its not a big deal to HOA, then I will let it drop as I thought perhaps he's just taking a break or something. But if this is something the HOA is concerned about, I'll be happy to share what I see.

The security company we contract out to is called "New Horizon" so that vehicle is most likely not part of our security patrol, if it was labeled as you indicated. It could be a company that provides security for the commercial entities within Broadlands, and hired by the Commercial association.

I have lived here for 12 years and have never seen a security patrol. Do they just patrol in one area? Is the car unmarked? Are they really patrolling at all?

They patrol, I've seen them fairly often. But, like other have said, they have the lettering on the side and are easy to spot (and avoid I guess). But since the community is so large its no wonder no one gets caught.

I'd recommend cameras as well, the Logitech Alert 750e Outdoor System is probably the best I have seen for the price and easy install.

    A night sample here:

Not the best range, but as long as you have some lights outside it isn't bad for the price. Would probably catch the make/model of the car which would help the police some.

When our mailbox got hit 2 years ago, we were directed to Mainstreet Mailboxes. Their number is 703-753-5521. We had the choice of picking up the new mailbox and installing it ourselves (which I did) or they would come out and do it for you.

I'm just a little freaked out now. Our neighbors came home from vacation Saturday night and they started to unload their roof rack and I bolted out of bed, thinking it was someone vandalizing our house. Extreme reaction, I admit - but it's just not something I'm used to! It's a shame people don't respect their neighbors. It's such a nice neighborhood - I'm surprised this happens.

I've seen the security car go by a couple of times since we've lived here. Not sure he would have had the opportunity to see anything, given the rate of speed he was moving at though.
