A new neighbor hasn't mowed his lawn in WEEKS. Who at the HOA can we contact about this?

'New Neighbor' huh. Glad I don't live next door to you. Why not knock on the door and introduce yourself and see if there is a reason first. Maybe their mower is busted and they don't know anyone in the neighborhood yet to ask to borrow one. When they slam the door in your face or don't do anything about the lawn after that by all means call the HOA.

We have - several times. Ok? No one is home. He bought the house but is never there.

No, we met him when he moved in and he is not renting it out. We haven't seen him since.

    Hi Beahmer,

We did, and she indicated she would take care of it. On another note, I just want to remind folks that before blasting their "neighbors" on here, they should wait for the facts.

If stating 'Glad I don't live next door to you' is considered a blast, then I am glad I don't live next door to you.

Or was it really meant to be a blast?

Was the lawn in question in the front of the house and clearly visible or was it in the back and/or surrounded by a privacy fence? Just curious...

Not like we have had an excess of rain or anything. Relax.....I'm sure it will be mowed eventually. It must be nice to have so little trouble in your life that your neighbors lawn is a legitimate concern of yours.

Give Lioness a break - maybe it's ridiculously bad. The poster was just asking a question.

Lioness, you could mow the lawn for them and when you see him next jokingly tell him you'll mow his front lawn (is it a townhouse?), for $20 a week. Really, if it's a small lawn and right next door, it wouldn't take too much effort to roll the mower a little farther out.

    Lioness-

I'm with you, don't let forum bullies get you down. With our HOA fees what they are you would think there would be a better system for HOA policing - we have problems in our neighborhood too. It's unfair that this burden is placed on homeowner - I don't think the HOA eforcement team gets out enough.

 Seriously an overgrown lawn gets so much attention? Wow. I feel very fortunate to live in this community and enjoy how well maintained it is kept. I also am very lucky to have super neighbors that help each other out...if some ones lawn needs mowed in the front, it gets taken care of by another neighbor, and life continues on. Random acts of kindness are a wonderful gift!

    Lioness,

Please make sure you contact the HOA. The office is really good with these (and all other) issues. If the lawn is nearly 12" long then that is beyond the regulations. I know in the past the HOA office will contact the homeowner and they have even gone as far as having HLS mow the lawn and the HOA will bill the homeowner for "lawn services".

FWIW - There are a few select forum users (bullies) who have a long track record of putting people/post down. Ignore them, it's better to not feed the trolls.
