We are looking to buy a outdoor playset. Any recommendations from where we should buy it? Does anyone have any online experience for buying playsets?

    Thanks
    Julie

    Julie,

I bought one from Costco earlier this year, but I think it is pretty seassonal. You may be able to find one online there. I think there is a place called Dogwood Builders which is out on rte. 7 across from Goose Creek golf course that builds playsets.

A very important thing to keep in mind is that you can expect to pay around $1000 for installation alone, depending on the type of playset you want. The other option is to put it together yourself but, depending on how handy the person is that's doing it, it would likely take 2-3 people a full weekend or more to do it.

    Good luck!

prices and options vary greatly so you really have to decide what you want in terms of size and features and also decide on quality you want to pay for (terms of fit/finish, quality of wood, longevity, etc.). I can't recall all of the names but there are at least three outfits in the area (Dogwood, Rainbow?, I think there are two places in Chantilly...). We ended up buying ours online so if you want more info let me know.

For assembly, if you (or someone you know) is handy with a socket wrench, hammer, etc. and can lift some weight, its not that hard to put one together. Great way to reduce the cost.

A few years ago when several neighbors were buying new playsets at Costco, there was someone who was offering up their own labor to build the playset. I'm not sure if they are still at Costco or not, but I think it was just a few hundred. And Costco will have them again in early spring..........I'd be surprised if they didn't.
