Personally, I like Golds Gym better than Lifetime. I usually go in the evenings and there's a fair amount of people there. I don't like it when the gym is empty. If the main gym area is crowded, you can go to the 24 hr section of the gym and there's usually not as many people there. They have all of the equipment you could want and plenty of classes. I felt that some of the equipment at Lifetime needed to be replaced..it didn't feel stable.

Golds is also a lot cheaper than Lifetime..I signed up early and paying only $25/month vs $75 at Lifetime.

Lifetime is good if you have small children..they have that nice outdoor pool with the side.

Lifetime is month to month though. I know a lot of folks still paying for a gym membership to Golds they havent used in at least a year . . .

They're very different. Lifetime is way bigger, has tons of kids programs, a sweet outdoor pool (which of course means nothing until May!) but you pay more. Golds is closer, smaller, has a tiny little spin room, less classes... but it's cheaper.

I have been a member of Lifetime since the day it opened. It's perfect for my family because we use all of the facilities and lots of kids programs.

If you have to workout odd hours or like working out after hours Lifetime is much better as the entire gym is open 24 hours (pool until midnight). The 24 hours section of Gold's is fairly small. You can still get a workout in but its a bit limited compared to the full gym.

If you are into basketball Lifetime is also better. Two full courts and they have leagues but they also have balls versus bringing your own.

As others have said the price difference is significant.

I thought I saw the front desk person handing a basketball to one of the members so they may have it there now.

Also, Lifetime has the full cafe where you can have dinner, breakfast, lunch, protein shakes, etc. They also have a full salon there. If you're looking for gym plus tons of amenities, then Lifetime may be the gym for you...if you are primarily looking for a gym and want to get in and out, you should consider Golds since it is a lot cheaper.
