Person to fix oven

    My oven (GE Profile) continues to turn itself off after being on for only a short period of time. GE gave me some tips, they didn't work; so I think I need a pro to come out to look at the oven. Any suggestions?

    It may be a faulty gas igniter. Does it happen for both broil and bake? In a earlier thread I think someone suggested Sterling Appliance for service.

    I called Able to fix the igniter on my GE XL4 last year and was very pleased. You might be able to find a coupon for them in the yellow pages.

    Thanks for the suggestions. Google makes it sound like the vent fan isn't working, and causing the control panel to act strange (shut off, lock the doors, display error messages). my wife is calling a couple of the suggested people to see who can come out and help us.
