There really aren't any sales here, right? I thought Apple never went on sale or had promotions of any kind. I'm looking for the IPAD 2 which is $499. Any one out there know what Apple does for Black Friday? The website just has a teaser saying come back and check out the Black Friday sale. Thanks!

Don't look for anything more than 10% off the iPad2, if anything.

I just got an e-mail from Apple that said they're having a "special one-day Apple shopping event". It doesn't specify what the deals are, it does say there are on-line deals as well; here is the fine print...

"Shopping event prices are solely available on November 25, 2011, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. PST, are subject to change, and do not include taxes. Promotional pricing cannot be combined with any other offers. Not all sale products are available in all Apple Retail Stores. Product specifications are subject to change. Sale prices are limited to stock on hand and while supplies last."

apple deals may include free bundled itunes cards...
free gift cards is another way other vendors give 'discounts' on apple buys without lowering the price

or they will discount all accessories, and not actual ipods/ipads.

    just came out....

Apple Black Friday Prices Leaked (iMac, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, nano, iPad)
The leaked internal documents show that Macs will be discounted by $101 (iMac, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro); iPad discounts will range from $41-$61 (all capacities - 16GB, 32GB, 64GB); the iPod nano's price will be slashed by $11 for all storage capacities; and the iPod touch will see $21-$41 discounts.

Might be a good option if you want an iPad with engraving.

In years past the black friday shopping sites always suggest going to any other retailer for apple products, they will have larger discounts than apple ever does.

I just got an email from Microcenter - they will be selling their iPad2 units for 10% off ($499 model for $449, etc)

They're located in Vienna, in the Pan Am shopping center.

I read my email to understand that they were offering free engraving and shipping..didnt see any specific discounts mentioned. The salesman at Best Buy said that Ipads would be about $45 off. Of course no Iphone 4gs to be found anywhere...unless I want to have it shipped from apple. 2 weeks. yuck :) Best Buy at Fair Oaks ( and Im sure all) have a 42 inch TV for $199...there were already 2 guys camped outside at 1pm. They are, however, showing Harry Potter at 9PM?!?! The sales manager mentioned that if I was to guess they had between 10 and 20 to sell, I should go closer to the first number. It is so sad, that this is what the holidays are becoming for so many.

also.. look out for on the fly changes. Many sites will eventually price match.. like amazon and walmart.

Just ordered a TV off amazon with price drops rather then go wait outside at hhgreg for hours
