For cats I recommend Loudoun Cat Care up on Cardinal Park Drive off of Rt. 7. I first took my cat to Ashburn Farm Animal Hospital 2 years ago after moving here - I guess since my cat was healthy they couldn't make any money off me. The vet asked no questions and acted like she could care less we were even there - needless to say, I never went back. Dr. Krista Wiechmann (Ashburn resident) at Loudoun Cat Care is wonderful. I did just have to put my cat down and she guided me through the process with such care and kindness. I felt like she cared about me and my pet first, vice making money.

Dr B. at Caring Hands!! He is so wonderful with our animals. He even sent us a hand written sympathy card when our dear Gino passed away.

We moved here from Baltimore and found Caring Hands and were so happy with them. We had two older dogs and - after getting dental estimates that were way more reasonable than we'd ever seen - they were mid-to low on their own estimates when it came time to do the cleanings. They have great hours and are super friendly. When, years later, sadly, it came to be the end of life for each of our dogs - they were compassionate and helped us tremendously. I can't say enough good about them.

Another vote for Dr. B. at Caring Hands. I've been going there for years and my dog loved all the staff! When she had to have emergency surgery to remove a cancerous tumor, they worked with us on what we could afford. When, a week later, my girl had complications, he took her in immediately. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done. They were so compassionate and caring, I received a phone call from Dr. B. with his condolences and a hand written card.

Hello. Reading the positive reviews and wondering where "Caring Hands" is located? Is this the vet in the Southern Walk Plaza or elsewhere?
    Thank you.

We recently switched to Caring Hands from our vet in Great Falls whom we had been with for about 15 years. We had issues both with the drive and the front desk staff (with one exception) at our old vet. Within a week of switching, our dog had some issues, with a bad reaction to medication. I really liked the way that they took my concerns seriously even though "If this was a dog you found in the parking lot and brought him in here, we wouldn't see anything wrong with him." He's feeling much better after his medication change!

I love Dr Jarrett. She is kind, intuitive, and consultative (we plan a course of treatment together, with options and consideration of everyone's needs). Another thing that I love about this place is that care extends beyond your appointment. Feel free to call with concerns on an ongoing basis, and it's part of the entire care package - none of this "bring the dog in and we'll evaluate him/her again" when treating ongoing conditions. I had that pain at Stream Valley constantly, they would noodle you here and there to make a buck. They are also investigatory, and will get to the bottom of things, no matter what - even consulting with third party specialists (at no charge) to ensure the appropriate treatment.

I only wish my primary care physician gave me the same treatment my dog receives at Caring Hands. :)

Their end of life care is second to none too. Dignity and compassion, like I never expected.

Been using Caring Hands since we picked up our puppy in 2008. Dr. Brazzizi was fantastic and we were set on which vet we were going to use. Later in the year, the dog was struck by a vehicle when she got loose from our dog walker down in Arlington. She had emergency surgery there and we brought her home. Brazzizi met us outside without an appointment just to check to see if the surgeons did a good job and give us some advice - no charge.

Very much enjoy Caring Hands, I have had many poor vets in the past.

I had been going to Stream Valley for 9 years. I had them put to sleep two of my treasured kitties. Both times, the noise from waiting room was so extreme that it just made something that was so sad and difficult all the more so. When I got my new kitten, she needed to be spayed, so I contacted the County and found out that Stream Valley did not accept the Humane Society Green Sheet. I ended up having her spayed at Loudoun Cat Care off Cardinal Drive in Leesburg. Fate was on my side, because I found Dr. Wiechmann! They are so wonderful over there and really take the time to talk to you. PLUS, no barking or loud noises to stress my kitties out. Prices are average, but they are not pushy. BTW - it is good practice to have senior kitties blood checked every year just to be sure. You would adore Dr. Weichman.

I LOVE Dr. Wiechmann! I knew her 20 years ago when she was working for Countryside Animal Clinic. I was devastated when she left them to stay home with her children. She was so good with both dogs AND cats. I was so happy when she opened her own practice, as I had a cat then. Now, I only have dogs, but I always recommend her to friends who have cats.

We are also former Stream Valley clients. We now take our dog to Caring Hands and have been generally pleased. And, like others here, we discovered how wonderful Dr. Wiechmann is with felines, so we take our cat to her at Loudoun Cat Care.

I have found a new veterinarian I really like and she is about 45 percent cheaper than Ashburn vets for annual exams, 35 percent cheaper for routine shots, and 32 percent cheaper for canine teeth cleanings. I just took my dog and my cat there today for their routine annual checkups, shots, and so forth and (after gas costs for the long drive) saved myself $121. Would you drive two hours to save $121? It was worth it for me. If you had even more pets, it would save you that much more. If it had been just my dog, the savings would have been $86 - still worth it to me. I use Colony Animal Hospital at 2256 Paper Mill Road in Winchester. It is about a 50 minute drive each way, but it saves a great deal of money and the staff is very professional and courteous. And I did not have to wait even one second once I got there; they were ready and waiting for me. They do not try to upsell you on anything. Amazing how much better service and price can be outside of the inflated Beltway bubble. Highly recommended. A+.

We were living in Leesburg when we moved to VA. I took both my dogs to Leesbirg Vet Hosp and was happy with them and continued going there since our move to Ashburn. My only problem is that recently I had an emergency with one of my dogs and it felt like a very far drive during that situation. (yes I was a little hysterical and alone, so it probably felt a lot longer than it actually is in miles) But if you already have a relationship with a vet around here I am sure in an emergency you could bring your dog there and use Leesburg Vet Hosp for routine check ups and shots.
