I visited the Ashburn Village Shopping Center yesterday and noticed Dunkin' Donuts is going in where Block Buster used to be, and Opa Mezze Grill is also going in a couple of doors down from the Hallmark Store.

I saw a BBQ place is going in down on the other end of that center.

Urban BBQ, the new restaurant in the Ashburn Village shopping center (where Giant is) is now open.

Got takeout from Opa! last week and it was excellent. Chicken souvlakis and gyros were some of the best I've ever had. And the tzatziki was just about as good as my homemade concoction. Very nice.

    I hope it does well!

Tried Urban BBQ last night...got their pulled pork sandwich and tried the baked beans. I'd give the pork an 'ok' and I didn't really care for the beans. For comparison purposes not nearly as good as Carolina Brothers on old Ashburn Road. Wouldn't say it is as good as Famous Dave's either. Also had the Face Plant IPA from Lost Rhino, which was 'ok' too. Maybe I was just in a funk...I'm willing to give them another try.

Had takeout from Urban on Tuesday night. Loved it! Had the beef brisket which was tender and had a smoky flavor. And I loved the beans. Had a nice kick to them.

As for the location, I like the spaciousness of it with tables not crowded too close to one another. The big TV's on the walls were a plus too.

Nice beer selection on tap and can. Including PBR and Schlitz!

Oh, and Face Plant is also my favorite Lost Rhino beer as well.

You had me at PBR! But I do like Lost Rhino. If you haven't already, you should attend one of their First Wednesday events.
